It almost makes that 67 more impressive. I know I tend not to play as well when I'm playing with someone who's chopping it around unless I can just block them out.

Good point. I find the same tendencies for myself. If someone could block it out and shoot a 67 in that spot, it's Tiger.

I agree. Whether it's having to wait for a long time on the group in front or having to wait on someone in your group who is struggling, it is difficult to stay in a good rhythm in those circumstances. The other day I managed to play a round in only 2 hours because no one was on the golf course. I didn't feel like I was hitting it that well, but I was able to get in a rhythm due to the good pace of play and I shot a pretty good score by my standards (78).

No-brainer - why didn't the PGA start this tournament today very early on both #1 and #10. It was obvious that the weather was going to be bad and hit when the leaders went off.

Actually was tempted to head back out there this early a.m. and get home for the leaders - glad I stayed home afterall.

My next tourney will be TPC @ Sawgrass in May. Looking forward to it already.

With that much rain on the course to soften it, can anyone catch Tiger?!! That wet rough is going to be tough to play out of!! Maybe the will resume play by 3:30?!

I agree, Tour should have started at least an hour earlier. That way the final group would be through 7 or 8 holes at this point. Not sure if they will be able to finish today with how it looks right now.

did you catch Sergio's shot on #10 from the trees - backhanded shot back into the middle of the fairway....not sure if he saved par.....wonder what club he used (maybe his "treewood"?).

Apparently play has been called for the day and they will resume at 10 AM Eastern tomorrow. Tour really screwed this up. They could have had a split-tee start in the morning and finished 90% of the round today.

Does it matter if they play 10% or 70% tomorrow?

For their TV ratings it does. Better to show 4th round coverage today than 3rd round coverage.

Tavistock Day 1 was supposed to be on Monday. Lots of players involved.  Guess they'll have to postpone.

Feel bad for those rich snobs. Joking, of course.

That's why I refuse to play with you... :-P

Yeah Rick I guess the battle of the neighborhoods will have to be postpone for a day. Well most of those guys get to sleep in their own bed, and be with their family another day too!

I was really looking forward to watching the rest of the tournament today. Even got up early and got a round in so I could sit back and relax this afternoon. Does anyone know if Tiger and Rickie were able to tee off before the delay?

Didn't bother him too much the three days I did it.

They played 2 holes. Woods is -1 and Fowler is Even on the round. 3 shot lead for Woods.

    • 70 today. The number looks good but, the course is a par 67 (5,110 yards, 64.3/115.). While the 70 took quite a few good shots to achieve, I am not counting that as shooting my age.
    • Played our town’s executive course this morning. Everything is closing but for now Huron Hills remains open. #13 is shaped like an upside down backwards L (dogleg left). Only 231 yard par 4. Dogleg has a tree guarding the corner and a sand bunker guards the green for those cutting the dogleg. Tiny green. About 10 years ago or more I would try to cut the dogleg. The hole is so short that even if one tangled with the tree or was bunkered, par was likely and birdie was still on the table. Now in my 70’s, I just hit it straight and try to wedge it close for birdie. Today I screwed up and pulled my drive. I wandered around a bit when my ball was not in the bunker. Finally located it on the approach to the green. Almost chipped in and tapped in the 2 inches for birdie. Best unintentional shot of the week. 😲

    • Why wouldn't it have? It's not like you were playing it as a 145yd par 5 and made a 2 or something.  Or not like it was playing 50yds to a temporary green or something either.
