I agree on the hips.  It still looks like that path is going left at impact to me and the ball position seems a bit far forward to me as well, but it could be the angle.

I agree with everything Nate said here.

@Jakester23 if you are really playing the ball that far forward, you're going to strike it later in your arc, which usually means path and clubface more left.

For some reason in my mind having it more forward would help me hit more up on it which in turn would help me hit it straighter. Thanks for the help.

Hitting up optimizes launch angle and spin, but path is affected. That's why if you have a fairly neutral path, you need to shift your baseline right in order to offset the left of the arc.

I'd like to get on a launch monitor to see my numbers maybe next weekend I can.  I'm going out of town on Saturday.  I definitely gotta work on getting my weight more forward before impact. Thanks.

Played 18 this morning and struggled off the tee.  I hit a whole bunch of pull draws with the driver and even one with the my 4w (I was hitting the driver so bad I gave the 4w a go on #16).  It became very frustrating on the back 9.  Im meeting Cipher on Tuesday when I get back from my dads and I hope he can give me some guidance.  With how bad I was off the tee I was lucky to post a 91.  It puts so much pressure on my short game to be spot on when Im so out of position off the tee.  :pound:

Met up with @cipher toady at the range. He quickly diagnosed my strong right hand grip. He changed my right hand and I immediately stopped hooking the driver.  The new grip feels uncomfortable but produced mostly small push fades or small draws. I need to work on correcting the strong grip but I'm excited to have a check if I start hitting hooks again.

Yeah the next time you play just try to focus on that little grip change before each drive.  I know it feels weird but the change is actually pretty small.  Only focus on the tempo in the actual swing when you play.  When you get too quick things may start getting a little funky.  Keep working on that path like we were as well when at the range. When you hit those little pushes is when you were getting some pretty great results.  Let me know how it goes.

Just that little change with my right hand made a huge difference.  Thanks @cipher for the help I'll definitely keep you posted.

Went to the range again today to see if my grip change was a fix or if it was just @cipher 's aurora guiding my shots in the right direction. I found out having my right hand in this position allows me to get the shot that matches my path. When I would try and swing quite a bit out I would get a draw and when I'd swing a crossed I'd get a big fade. Anything in the middle was a very acceptable shot.  I'm going to keep focusing on this.

Its always funny to me how such a little thing can get you on the right path. Pun intended.

Haha, funny stuff, but very good to hear about the results.

Played Sunday for the 1st time using my grip @cipher and I worked on.  I didn't hit one pull draw with the driver.  I shot an 88 which was good considering I didn't even hit the ball all that well.  I hit one poor drive which was a huge push fade.  My approach shots weren't great but considering how much Ive been struggling off the tee Im very happy.  Its still uncomfortable with my right hand that weak Im going to try and get to the range a few nights this week.  Im playing a new track Saturday and see if I can build on this past weekends results.  Thanks for the help  @cipher.

Good stuff Jake.  I am very happy to hear that you did not have and pull draws/hooks.  It will feel weird for a while but keep trusting it and I think the results will be there.

It definitely gives me better results. I just need to find the lowest point with my irons and hybrids with the grip change. I hit a bunch of slightly thin or slightly heavy approach shots.

Ive played a few rounds and been to the range a number of times since @cipher helped me with my grip change.  At this point its safe to say this change has been a huge success in eliminating my hooks.  I played last night shot an 87 with 3 lost balls. I hit a push fade into a lateral hazard off the tee on my 3rd hole.  I hit a pull into another lateral a few holes later out of a fairway bunker.  The ball was above my feet and looking back at it I probably should have hit a different club.  I hit another push fade OB on my 8th hole off the tee.  From there on I hit all good shots off the tee.  I hit 2 of the best iron shots Ive hit on par 3's in a long time.  Ive found that I have the tendency to take the club back to fast which directly affects my strike.  If I make a point to be smooth on my backswing I seem to find the center of the face much more often.

Played 18 yesterday and 9 today. I hit a few perfect shots but I did hit my fair share of bad ones. I'm still struggling with a few pulls with the driver.  One thing I noticed today was when I make a conscious effort to take it back slower, pause, and start my downswing with my lower body I seem to hit my irons solid. Driver seems very depenpendent on temp.  I  just need to get a swing thought to help me on the course.

Still having inconstant results wit the driver.  I hit it pretty good on the front 9 today but struggled with it on the back. Shot 40/46 and it was exclusively because of the driver.  I hit mostly small straight fades on the front.  On 10,11,12,14,17 I hit big block fades.  16 was a small push fade and my 2nd ball on 17 (1st block was OB) was the only pull draw I hit.  I hit my irons pretty good and my short game was very good.  I just need to get the driver figured out.  I feel like its a path issue hopefully I can get a video up this week. I might even have time tomorrow.
