A Christmas Story Christmas - Birdie. If you liked A Christmas Story, I think you will like this. It follows the adult Ralphie going home with his family. They had most of the original kid actors in it playing their adult selves. The humor was very similar and it paid homage to the original without being sappy. My wife and I really liked it.

He's nuts. An entertaining kind of nuts, until you get to the Scientology stuff, but if you stick to the movies stuff… nuts.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, birdie. I read afterward that some people are thinking it lost its edge (no pun intended I'm sure), but I thought it was well done and amusing. I think maybe the first one set the bar pretty high, but as mystery type movies go, it was enjoyable and didn't give away too much too quickly.

I watched 8-Bit Christmas today. I didn't realize it was only a year old, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. There are a lot of 80s references, and I appreciated those. I saw a ton of my daughter in the main character's sister (and some of my sister, too).

Great nostalgia, a funny movie, and a nice way to spend Christmas afternoon while most everyone else took a nap.

Though (I'll try not to spoil anything), I do wish the ending of the actual story had been… better?

American Ultra… double bogey. There have been far better "sleeper agent that's reactivated" movies. This one had Kristen Stewart, who I really don't like, and the sleeper agent stuff just felt totally stupid. Topher Grace as a CIA agent? Also, the CIA isn't allowed to operate on U.S. soil.

Was fine as a "background" movie while I did other work, but… meh. (It was on my list and going off Netflix on December 31, so I watched it.)

The ending wasn't even good.

I was looking forward to this because the original Knives Out was so good. Cast is great so I expected more but disappointed in this one.  Three putt.

The wife wanted to watch Pig, so we did. Double bogey. I just didn't care. I get it, I understood what was happening. I read the summary on Wikipedia then to make sure I had it all right.

I just didn't care. It was too slow, too… blah, too… surreal. There's a homeless looking guy in a super fancy restaurant with blood all over his face, and nobody seems to care. At all.

Meh. The guy loves/loved his truffle pig. Whatever.

This feels like the kind of movie many people don't want to say is bad because they'll be seen as "not that artsy" or "not smart enough to get it."
