I have the UA and it is very nice down to about 50 or so.   If you are looking to golf in temps below that, a wool sweater is hard to beat and I found some merino wool long sleeve sweaters on LL Bean's website that are not bulky at all but sure keep you warm.

If the weather is below 50, my choice is to put on a UA mock, long sleeve polo and one of those wool sweaters.  I won't golf if the high for the day is predicted to be below 40 and that combo keeps me warm down to there.

Someone once told me a good cashmere sweater will keep you nice and toasty and I concur but I never had a problem with keeping the core warm. It's the extremities - the fingers and toes that get me. I've biked year round and never found gloves and socks that kept me warm more than 30 minutes.

Years ago, I was told the body will restrict blood flow to the extremities if necessary to ensure the core is protected, since this is where the vital organs are located.   After hearing that, I adjusted how I dressed to make sure my core stayed well insulated from the cold.  I have gone bird hunting in temps below zero without having cold fingers or feet, so I tend to think that advice was accurate.  So with that said, I am wondering if whatever clothing you have on your core is not adequate to allow for normal circulation in those temps.

The cycling is a bad example I think because I'm adding an extra I dunno, 20-25 mph wind chill, a continuous one that never stops. With golf, I have to admit, I still swing without any gloves during the winter. Probably not wise.

I like LL Bean lambswool sweaters. Medium weight, very warm, available in V or crewneck, and about 1/2 the price of cashmere.

Mizuno Windlite and FJ Performance are my favorites.  Both are lined to protect from the wind.

Never found ANYTHING that could compare to the 1/4 Zip Mizuno windlite...but the ones I have are about 3 years old so I can't say about the new ones. Warm, comfortable, absolutely NO restriction when swinging. I had a navy colored one, and finally found a beige one and a black one USED on EBAY....never bought "used clothes" before, but I wanted them soo bad and that's the only place I could find them.

I really like my Mizuno Windlite.  Ive got one that Ive had for about 5 years now and its still by far the warmest sweater I own.  I really like that it has a liner on the inside that keeps the wind from blowing through it.

Whats in my :sunmountain: C-130 cart bag?

    • That answers my question.  That feels more natural to me. I'll work on that. Thanks
    • Complex question. Good players begin pushing forward around P2. Visibly around P3. They're well on their way forward at P4.
    • Still plugging away with the teacher.  I do have a question after working on some drills last night. This is something I should know already but for some reason, I have gotten myself confused. It deals with weight transfer on the downswing. At what point, should that take place?  Should it be early (prior to reaching A4) ?  I ask because in one of my drills  I get to A4, I feel the weight transfer AS my arms drop, and then go.  Now this may be totally normal, but I "feel" like this gets me in a weird timing position and causes me to try and do too much at once.
    • Tentatively in for at least one of those days. My job situation is a bit up in the air at the moment so need to get that sorted out first then I'll know more for sure or not.
