Also, if you ever want to work together, we can meet up in Long Beach, I make it up there every two or three months. Planning to be at El Dorado to work with @Lihu March 8th.

Not as much as I like. Might be up there this summer, I'll make a note to let you know if I do.

One on one lessons with somebody who knows what's up (like @mvmac ) is the best way to go. Once every month or 2 is ideal so you can get priorities/feels and then train them in before you see the teacher again. If you want to shoot lower scores, sacrifice a round a month and put that money towards a lesson.

I second this... I might be able to show you a few things with regards to how to practice, but as far as what you should be practicing, I don't know. @mvmac would be able to show you both, and it'd probably be the best money you could spend on your game.

My invitation still stands, and I look forward to you coming out, but make sure that you have a real good idea of what you need to improve and HOW you are going to do it before hand. There's not much I'll be able to do to help you practice if you don't know what you need to practice.

Don't just try, commit. Just trying will not change anything. Commit to a change and work at it for a duration long enough to see results.

Before on the left, after, slow swings on the right

Stronger grip, feet turned out more.

Adding more knee flex on the right, looks great.

Club face not fanning opening (less need to lift the arms), hips have turned more.

Hips turning more early on the right, not moving back like they are on the left. Very athletic looking on the right.

More arm depth on the right, due to more rotation of the hips. Elbows also staying close together.

On the left, shaft steepens, left wrist is cupped, club outside the hands leading to the club moving down and across. On the right, shaft shallows, left wrist is flat, feeling bowed, path is OUTward.

More weight forward, less "flippy", handle is further forward. Head is also staying more steady, not "poping" up like in the left pic.

The last 2 sets of pictures are extreme, that club has to be at least 2 feet in different location, and you can see the glove hand in the before because of the flipping in the last set and of course in the after the release is being held back more. Well Kyle it looks like @mvmac has you started on the path it's up to you now.

    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
