There are other websites?

Yeah, but no button to bring directly to the latest new posts on TST so I avoid those half ass sites... I mean, seriously, how hard would it be to have a button that takes me to the latest posts on here?

Might not be that hard, actually. I only use it for design, but it may be possible with Stylish or something similar.

Don't EVER buy into the Home Depot 24 month interest free scam. It's only deferred interest.

Isn't it only interest free if you pay within the 24 months? Otherwise it's like you mentioned they put it right back on top of the principle!

That's what we thought, but they put the whole amount on if you don't pay the full amount in 12 months. Learn from the wisdom of my experience and extra $4477.31 that I now owe them.

Yeah, my sister got dinged with that at a furniture store. After the two year period elapse she still owed $50 or something similar and they charged her 2 years interest on the full amount. #readthefineprint

Definitely. This was financed through Home Depot through the AC company who told us it was 24 months interest free. Should have been more vigilant. This sucks.

How is that 24 month interest free then? Sounds like 12 month interest free.. I mean, it is kind of hard to interpret 24 month interest free with anything less! Man that sucks about te extra 4k it isn't a small amount! [quote name="Ernest Jones" url="/t/72760/social-thread-chat-about-non-golf-here/400_10#post_1047011"] Yeah, my sister got dinged with that at a furniture store. I usually will ask questions until there is no doubt in regards to what I'm getting ... Especially since I know that most of these companies will say what ever they think people want to hear to get them to buy their stuff!

It's called "24 Month No Interest" which is true. I didn't have to pay it until now.

It sounds like the lack of interest was… your lack of interest.

I agree that sucks.

My wife and I have done the "no-interest" thing several times now. For example, if we're getting a tax return, we'll do it… and then pay it off two months later. Or some stuff like that.

But we have always paid it off, in full, well before the free part expired.

If you still have your original paperwork, I'd look it up and talk with the original people who installed it and told you 24 months. Sounds like it was 12, not 24.

Been through all that. We were stupid. I'm sucking it up and sharing my stupidity that others might learn from it. :8)

The only thing worse than having been taken advantage of, is knowing that you allowed it to happen and could have easily prevented it.

Been there, done that.  Only once though......you don't make that particular mistake again!

Hornet update (I know everybody is waiting on the edge of their seats): ;-)

Got a bug zapper but was only killing a few every night. Tried spraying hornet killer from the truck window but wasn't having much luck with that because of the location and that they are much harder to kill.

Decided to run a plastic pipe up close to the crack and hook a vacuum cleaner to it.

Got hundreds of them in the vacuum today, vacuumed a little Seven Dust in on them and killed them. Here is the first dump.

Tomorrow I'll put some dust in the pipe and blow it in on top of the nest and what's left of them.

I just bought a $2,000 tv on my Best Buy card. Says 12 months no interest so thought as long as I pay it off in a year, I'm good. Gonna check the fine print on it now so thanks for the tip...

I hear that method works for getting bees too. ;-)

Good luck sir!. As a hoops player at my school, I'm more the "selling tickets in the booth" type of guy. LOL.

I bet you aren't nearly as happy about two a days being over as your players are. :-D

(Unless they are as crazy as I was and actually like the Hell of practice).

Good luck on your upcoming season.

    • Day 187: 6/27/24 Putting practice on a 3’ 1” wide ruler. Slow motion swings with a PW.
    • Those look good.
    • I hit a bad tee shot on hole 7, but made a stupid recovery.  There was the easy punch out into the fairway and have about 150 in. Then there was to hit a low overdraw that stayed in this alley of trees that could run the ball up near the green. I was 185 yards into the green. I took my 5 iron and laced a low draw to about 15 yards short of the green. Off a pretty tight light as well. I was really proud of this shot. The ball didn't get more than 15-Ft off the ground for about 160 yards.
    • Trying to describe the swings tonight in comparison to the better swigs on the range.  1. Not hanging out on the trail side as long as I need. Even though it was a slight push cut, the best struck ball was the 7 iron on hole 9. nGIR from 185 yards, like 8 yards off center of green from 185 yards, so like a 4% leave, not too shabby. Took me long enough to exaggerate this feel. 🙄 I finally was able to get an up and down for par. Short game feels average, but I can't buy a putt right now. I am hitting decent putts. Good weight. Just nothing going in outside of 5-FT.  2. Downswings were not the good kind where I get separation with the hands from my body. It was a lot of dipping the body and keeping elbow bend. When I hit a lot of big pushes, I know this is happening. It tends to be the pattern, especially when I struggle to turn good. Things just dip way to the inside. Just struggled with this tonight. I think it was probably because I didn't get the pause feel correct.  3. Wedges were really good. SW, GW, and PW are the best clubs right now to feel a good swing. I am just able to really feel the club stop short of A4, pause it, and then rip it. I had 138 yards shot into a par 3, and I took my PW. I felt like I kept the swing at like A2.5, and just crushed it to 138 yards. Like, ball landed 4-FT right of the pin, then spun back 25-FT off the green. Kind of a stupid green, like 5% slope back to front.  Current good feels.  1. Swing length to A3.  2. Gain separation between my body and hands in the downswing.  3. Somehow add turning into this? This really my biggest struggle. There are three outcomes right now. First, I turn and don't get my hands down well. Second, I get my hands down and it feels like I do not turn at all. Third, I sync up both and crush the ball.
