Want to find out how to post embedded links like this in threads?

Then read more below......

The Sand Trap forums have a great way to embed links that's historically under-used, so we've written this article about it.

We'd like to encourage you to embed links to The Sand Trap resources rather than just copying and pasting the URL. It's something you can do daily to help make The Sand Trap just that little bit more awesome. So check out this new embedding feature, play around with it and have fun!

When you're responding to a discussion and you want to link a thread, article, product, or review, it's a good idea to Embed it. It looks nicer and cleaner than just posting a link, like this:

Here are the steps to take to linking to a TST resource when responding to a discussion.

1. In your tool bar click on the ">" button:

If you can't see the ">" button, you're probably viewing the simple editor controls. Just click the "More" button to the right to view the full controls.

2. Search for the link or resource

In this reply I want the user to check out a thread where he can see what other users have said about the grips I have recommended.

Just type in words like "pure grips" or "newbie helpers" or "5SK video thread" in the search box, and click the "Search" button.

3. From the list of results, Click on the link (red) you want.

In this case, I'd like to select the first thread listed.

4. Choose how you want to link to look:

You'll probably use "Inline" for most posts that link to threads.

5. Your post with the embedded content will look like this when submitted:

And when you hover the mouse over the link it will look like this

6. You can also embed products easily!

Here I'm searching for a review for a specific set of irons

7. We recommend going with "Block" for Products.

8. Your post will look like this:

I think the best part of this feature is just being to search for a thread to link it. It gets a little tedious sometimes to open up a new tab, search for the page I'm referring to, and then copying and pasting. I will do this, thanks.

No. We can't track page views and all that stuff.

@iacas ,

What is up with the latin in the imbed feature?  I feel like Mr. Maynard is going to throw chalk at me if I misuse this phase!

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, How to hit Sand/Bunker Shots consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua.

I got this translation from Google.  My latin is rusty considering it has been 38 years since my last class.

It can be a film, How to hit the Sand / bunker shots to obtain pain pain, but because occasionally circumstances occur in which toil and pain can procure him some great pleasure.

It's just filler text. Commonly used by web developers. I even have a keyboard shortcut for it.

It should have secret hidden meanings or clues like in National Treasure .

    • Bryson got hit with a 2 shot penalty, after the round, for improving his lie on hole 5.  Here is a post on X, showing how he stepped on high grass when he was looking down his target line.  When they cut to the side shot, you can see how close he was behind the ball.  I think the R&A probably made the correct decision. You just have to be really careful when you are walking in the high grass, around the ball and where you are to make a swing.

    • Day 27 (17 July 26) - Normally an 18 hole day, but due to commitments abbreviated the round to 9 holes (played the back nine at home course).  Had a solid session where even the worst miss (tee shot off 18) was fully playable.  Shot a solid 39 (6pars, 3bogies) - not dbls, no three putts - just boring golf.
    • Overall, well said. People have to be very careful in trying to describe very complex problem in simple terms. In this case, it is a clear fundamental misunderstanding of Newton's 1st and 3rd laws.  To clarify more on the misinterpretation of Newton's 1st law. The exact interpretation of Newton's 1st Law....  "Every body continues in its state of rest, or of uniform motion in a straight line, unless it is compelled to change that state by forces impressed upon it" yea, a body will stay motionless unless a force acts upon it. An object will stay on its path of motion unless a force acts upon it.  I get it, complex physics problems are difficult. There is a lot of simplification done in most physics class when it is taught. A classic problem uses a frictionless surface. Projectile motion excludes drag and wind direction. Collisions are usually elastic. The golf swing is not a simple physics problem.  Yea, I think they got caught up the data on the graphs and are not truly understanding cause and effect.  If the golfer isn't first pushing into the ground, then the ground isn't going to push back.  The internal forces of the body create the motion, not the external forces from the ground. The ground isn't like what Psy uses to start his concert. 🤣 You probably need to be connected to the ground and have those GRF to help the body produce the motion you want. Your body has to move in the right way to produce the GRF which helps you move the body in the way you want. Body motion precedes the GRF.
