It would be cool to have 3 teams from the Big 10 in the final four.   Digger Phelps from ESPN predicted it.   I don't believe that has happened before.   There have been two before but not three.

What's exciting, Wisconsin is still young and could return their core.   Michigan if it gets in, only has one senior too.

The local paper today stated that in 1985 the Big East has three teams reach in the final four.   The Big 10 has had two teams reach the final four 7 times.

First time since 2000!! Two of my final four picks are in. If Mich state wins, I will have 3 of four.

I simply need UCONN to face Michigan in next Mondays final, and I will win my pool ... and will have gotten the final four 50% correct, as well as the final two. :)

UConn was the better team today.   MSU turned the ball over too many times.

If UConn plays defense like that against Florida, what is the projected scores for that game. I would say both teams might end up under 50 points :-D

Must be nice to make it this far in a pool.... Ugh why do I have to stink so badly?...

That said, I'm rooting for you to pull out the win! Good luck haha.

As for me, I think I will be announcing my retirement from the bracket business later this week. :surrender:

Yea, forgot you were on the Wisconsin side.... brutal loss. The old cliche is true though that it was a great game and both teams played hard.

Kentucky is just destined or something. Insane drama IMO. I'm the harshest critic you'll ever find of this tournament, but this year has been so entertaining.

This year has been the best tournament to date.   With the upsets and close games, it is difficult to "not" watch a game.    Much better than the lazy NBA.

When UConn beat Florida, I won both my brackets (and not because I picked them, haha). It's pretty rare that a bracket challenge is decided before the final four round is even over. Oh well

LOL ... me too.  Half my group had Florida playing or winning tonight.

Disagree on the second part though.  Last year, my group was actually over even before the final four started .

I would have never picked UConn to win.

Now I know you're not the president. ;)

I'm such an idiot.  I read somewhere that Obama picked UConn to win the whole thing, but didn't pay any attention to the story or, you know, actually read it.  He picked UConn to win the women's tournament, but he actually picked Michigan State to win the men's. http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2014/03/18/president-obamas-bracket-2014-ncaa-mens-basketball-tournament

What a numbskull!

That's a good point. I think what I meant to get at is that in both brackets, only myself and a couple other people had 2/4 final four teams right, with most having only 1 (Florida) or 0... And no one at all had a correct pick for the final 2.

    • Hello Golfing Buddies, It has been awhile since I posted but I am the Retired Old Man that asked for advice because I suffered two "T.I.A.'s about switching from playing right handed to playing left handed.  I purchased a Callaway Edge Left handed golf clubs. I changed the grips to oversize grips.  Well, two weeks ago and still at 79 years old, I shot a 44 and 47 on a small course in my hometown.  I am currently changing my shafts from regular flex to Senior flex.  So, you can see' it can be done! So, you other old timers; get with the program! Blessings to all of you. Retired Old Man (Terry Warner)

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
