Yeah, in watching the video with the other two incidents, I'd say it's a safe bet the dude has a problem.

I presume that he'll get suspended for the next match?  Perhaps banned from the entire tournament?  (Of course, facing Colombia without Suarez means that one game likely will be the entire rest of the tournament for Uruguay.)

I dunno what they'll do. He got 7 games for the first biting incident and 10 games for the second, but those were club matches. It's possible he gets a year ban from international play. What makes it a bit worse is he dove afterwards to hide the fact he bit the guy.

I could be wrong, but Group C seems weak compared to Italy-England-Uruguay-Costa Rica earlier today. Nonetheless, Japan, Greece, and Ivory Coast are definitely in a battle for the #2 spot right now. Looking like the Greece-Ivory Coast game may decide it unless Japan gets really hot here against a tough Columbia team.

Holy crap, the Greece goal at the end of stoppage time was devastating to Ivory Coast. Unbelievable. Greece moves on, seconds from elimination.

WOWOWOWOWOW. I would've thrown up if I had to take that penalty. I can't believe they won.

Insane drama at the end. Makes the USA shocker ending seem just a minor consequence. We still can control our destiny. Ivory Coast gone just like that.

At the end, I was saying, "well at least now I can just focus all my World Cup attention on the USA..." to rationalize yet another early Greek exit. Can't believe they got that gift.

Now the USA has to just pull it out too. Alexi Lalas looked like he was going to pass out (he's Greek-American) when it went to the studio.

That was definitely a touching moment in studio with Lalas- agree with earlier comment that ESPN is covering the World Cup pretty well.

And even in the last couple of decades, as the coverage improved somewhat, it still seemed to be lacking, but now I think they are spot on.  The announcers have all been great, and my favorite show is the "ESPN FC" show each night.  They show extended highlights of each game with original audio so you can basically watch all of the games you missed while at work and feel like you didn't miss anything important.

Don't know if you've been watching the Men in Blazers segments, but those are my favorites. I've been listening to their podcast for a few years (GFOP!!!), but it's cool seeing them in video form. This post, BTW, brought to you from the CRAP part of suburban Massachusetts.

If Argentina beat Nigeria 1-0 & Iran beat Bosnia-Herzegovina 1-0, lots get drawn to decide if Nigeria or Iran advance. That is fantastic and I am rooting so hard for this to happen.

Suarez is the stupidest person to walk on a pitch. I hope FIFA sees this and makes sure he doesn't participate any more in this event.

Some statement when talking about footballers!

Pretty dumb thing to do (for the 3rd time) but I'm not sure what to make of a sport where being gobbed (spat) on, for example, is somehow deemed worse than, say, a pre-meditated Roy Kean leg breaker tackle. Football's morals have been fubar for a long, long time. It's not like he bit half of Chiellini's ear off.

Great sport, shame about many of the participants.

After 3 minutes the hopes of Argentina and Iran having to draw lots are already gone. FIXED I TELL YA.

That's what happens when you put your hopes against Messi scoring. [/quote] I suspect FIFA will exclude Suarez for the rest of the tournament, and no more, but if they really wanted to throw the book at him, they would ban him from international competition for a year, which would mean missing next year's Copa America. (There's going to be a special CONMEBOL-CONCACAF intercontinental tournament in 2016, but a ban stretching that far would test FIFA's maximum suspension cap of 24 months.)
