You would think even a foam ball landing in a light plastic cup like that would make it move though.

Hmmm, that one does seem fishy to me... Those balls ARE heavy and soiled enough to move around a plastic cup, since they can go through drywall with a skulled full wedge shot that misses a net. Not that I'd know from experience or anything. Also, on the plastic cup shot, he was shooting with a high enough frame rate that his club appeared to not be blurred during his swing, yet the bouncing ball was slightly blurred. Seems fishy to me now. (This is the second video in the list I am referring to) As to the second to last video in the sequence, I guarantee that the foam balls would knock that cup over easily. He also appears to start pumping his fist before the ball even goes in, despite obviously not having been told yet that it went in since it hadn't done so yet.

Yep. The first two could possibly be done with those balls but not that one.

That one leads me to think they are all video tricks.

Isn't that cup built into a false floor green? Remember that the ball is nearly at the top of its arc, so its downward speed is no more than if you had dropped it from a couple of feet. Of course if he were using real balls, the window would be at risk. Tin Cup could no doubt pull that off on the first try, but it seems like if there were a lot of tries, he might have broken the window.

OK, I need to look at them longer or will a video expert please come forward. I guess I should never underestimate the doggedness of attention seekers.

Agree with the guys that say it's real but just a plastic or foam ball.

It wouldn't be that hard to make this or any of those basketball shooting videos when you have a camera and an infinite amount of "film" to shoot it on, if you had the patience and persistence.

They have those "Impossible shot" videos online with the European Tour guys skipping a ball across water to hit a gong 200 yards away or so, and while they may do it in a handful of takes, I could probably do it as well.

It might take me a day, or two, or 4, or a week or 6 months ... but I'll get it eventually, and going to take my "real" video, trim out all of the misses, and post it online as some amazing miracle shot.  As long as we recognize that these guys probably sat there for 6 hours trying to make this video, then I don't see any reason to question the validity.  Just their sanity. ;)

The cups are filled with water. That's why they don't move around. It'd be lame to "hole out" into a SOLO cup and then have the cup wobble and fall over, so they fill it with a little water.

These videos aren't faked. They probably took a lot of takes, but I see no evidence at all that they're faked. You can do some pretty goofy stuff with foam or plastic wiffle golf balls.

Wouldn't you see some sort of splash? I don't know since I've never tried it before myself. I do agree that the shots are certainly feasible with foam balls and enough time, but the cups just looked odd to me since the cup doesn't budge at all.

You can see the water in this one (or whatever substance it is). The ball floats.

Yeah, definitely plastic balls. I have loads of them at home, and they behave exactly like the one in the first video did. Real shot, plastic ball.

I see now, thanks for pointing that out to me!

Seems legit to me, denitely not impossile. Must have taken a few hundred tries though. Well, I guess you have to be that good with hundreds of ProVs and a couple nice putters sitting around.
