That is a good price.  I am tempted to pick up a pair.  I really like the current ones I have.

I picked up a pair. I also used a $10 discount code (for any Woot purchase over $25) that I got on Amazon Local. $10 off for a cost of $0. So, the shoes were $39.95 for me....

I need a wide shoe and that isn't part of the selection. Damn.

Make certain you know what model you're getting ... the Phoenix seems to be the least popular shoe in the True Line.

If it's the Tour or the Proto ... great deal, otherwise...

I went shoe shopping yesterday and it's really hard to find 13s in stores. Even harder to find 13 Wide. Most of the shoe "sales" I see online have a bunch of sizes no one can even use.

Well, the sales places are trying to get rid of stuff that hasn't sold. Sometimes you can win with those cruise ships at the ends of your legs, since 13's and 14's don't move in the shops, either. A lot of teh sales I come across will have sizes 6,7, 13,14,15's even. Nothing for us "normals". Although the Woot sale the other day had some normals in one or two styles with the others being only available for dainty feet..

Got my pair just yesterday. It's the Tour model. Has to be the best fitting, most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever put on my feet. Great to have, especially if you like to walk the course. Only concern is that they are "spikeless", so I don't know how long the traction will last. Anyway, clicked on to order another pair or two, and see that they are completely sold out. Maybe the deal will pop up somewhere else. Get a pair - your feet will thank you!

Woot has had specials on the True's a couple of times. Keep checking in and if it isn't the "Woot of the day" it might be in the Sports "Woot" for the day

Woot ran another special on the True Tours last week. Have been looking at these for a while and curious about the hype so couldn't pass it up at $49. They arrived yesterday and I put them on right away expecting to be disappointed by everyone's expectation setting "most comfortable shoe ever" promotions. I was wrong. They are so comfortable that I didn't want to take them off - in fact, I didn't take them off - wore them around the house the rest of the day just because. I laughed at an earlier comment where someone compared the feeling to "walking on a cloud of titties" - I know know how accurate a description that is. While, in full disclosure, I've never actually walked on titties, if I ever did, this is exactly what I expect it would feel like. Haven't taken them to the course yet (that's later today hopefully) so can't speak for traction, etc. but I'm optimistic.

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
