I must say I love my s55's that I ended up buying, but they left me wondering one thing:

Why does PING even bother producing the i25's when the s55's have just as much forgiveness, look prettier, and (for me) hit the ball longer with a tighter dispersion? Honestly these things are much more forgiving than my old Eye 2's, and they still feel just as forgiving as the i25's. Not to mention center contact feels better and they are just an awesome looking club overall.

My one complaint with them would be the stock shaft option. It's definitely very bendy for what is labeled as a stiff flex, but I'm replacing them with the KBS Tours so it's a non-issue for me. I just wish they'd carry the KBS Tour shafts in the clubs at some golf shops, instead of only the stock options.

I feel the same, except personally I love the stock CFS shaft. I am going to buy the 4 iron and the PW probably this week to complete the set as well.

And you can use them backwards as a putter!

I prefer to use the back of my 60* wedge as a putter since I found the angle to get the "face" to have the normal loft of a putter, but I have played rounds before using the back of my 5-iron as a putter when my putter was getting regripped. It doesn't work half bad, and the feel off the back of the club is exceptional.

Were you fit for the stock shaft? You can order them with a variety of shafts, KBS Tours are one of them. They even have fitting carts where you can put the heads on different shafts. Funny thing is I actually like the stock shaft.

Can you write a review in the equipment section?  That would help others.

I was fit for a KBS X-Flex but was unable to wait the 3 weeks (they would've arrived mid-season for high school tournaments) that it was going to take (which is what PING told me, the store said 1 week) for them to arrive. The i25 irons have more offset - easier to get airborne with the longer irons I'd imagine.

I have never carried a 3-iron before the s55's and I've used it in two tournament rounds so far since it's been easy to hit and keep in the fairway (good for short tree lined courses where you are still hitting wedges in while removing the risk of the trees.

I'm not a huge PING fan, but I would love to hit the s55's some time.  Beautiful irons.

Not sure if it is just in my head but with the way the S55 irons slide through the turf I have been more comfortable with my s55 5 iron than I was with my i20 long irons.  I like it well enough that I have decided to get the 4 iron to match, and I don't have a ton of swing speed.

Just an update on the long irons, I played a tournament yesterday with the 3 and 4 iron in my bag (my hybrids were being reshafted, along with my 3-wood so I only carried 13 clubs) and had plenty of confidence in them. I went for the green on two different par fives with them (one with the four, one with the three) and hit it with the four but shut down the face too much on the three and ended up just left of the green. They're easy enough to hit though that I believe I'll be ditching my 4-hybrid just because I find the iron easier to control in terms of distance and trajectory.
