Well, they made it into the Eastern Conference Final. Nice comeback.

Still not a good team. The Caps collapse again. :P

The West is just so much better than the East. The fact that LA missed the playoffs despite being one of the best teams on paper shows the depth in the West. I wouldn't be surprised if the winner of Anaheim vs. Chicago sweeps the Stanley Cup Final.

I hate caring about the outcome of a playoff game that goes to OT. At least we won. Bring on Tampa.

Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick game.

Thought Kreider would be the one to score the game winner.  Got the wrong player but the right line.

I have always liked Ovi (except when he plays against the Rangers) and hope he wins The Cup some day.

Bring on TB!

pt - the only thing worse in hockey than the on ice officials are the announcers on the NBCSN.  I'm not sure who I dislike more, Emrick or Pierre.  They're just terrible.

So disappointing. Time for the "Russians have no heart and Ovechkin is a bad leader" talk ;-)

Yeah, he'll likely get condemned for his play in games 5 & 6 rather than game 7.  It's too bad, too, because he wasn't the reason the Caps weren't able to beat the Rangers, IMO.

The money the Leafs just gave Babcock is borderline insanity.

Not really. The best coach in hockey should be making that much money.

What makes him the best coach in hockey? Is it that Stellar play off record he has, or the 1 cup he won with a loaded team?

Hype, and lots of it, plus a general consensus of people who probably didn't evaluate the criteria objectively enough.

If he turns the Leafs around, I might buy it. I don't mean a single lucky playoff appearance sandwiched between years of futility, either. I'm talking sustained long-term improvement. Maybe five successful years out of his eight.

Franchises that go bad for long periods of time, change coaches like we change socks. I have a good impression of Babcock, but the Leafys just got some real expensive socks. The GM position is more important in my opinion.

It really seems like a funny thing to hire the coach before the GM. Maybe we can get a hockey version of the Odd Couple and the silly show can continue for a few more years.

The Rangers are the fastest team in the NHL. I don't even think it's close.

When they got that stretch passing game going, NYR is tough. Going to make a real effort to clear the docket and watch the game tomorrow.

Rangers just love playing with their backs against the wall.

Let's see what they do tonight.

Yeah, "we have them right where we want them"

Get it to game 7 and let Hank do his thang. It'd sting a bit to be beaten by Rangers/B.

    • Fantastic selection! And very little driving between them. Fingers crossed the weather is good to you.
    • Day 20: 2026.01.22 Hit about twenty balls at the range. Quietly pleased with how the changes are bedding in, surprsingly consistent ball flight. Hoping to film over the weekend to capture new movement.
    • You might also consider a tune-up lesson. Check and see if anything in your set-up or basic swing is holding you back. I have been playing for more than five decades, but on occasion I've had to make swing tweaks due to age, loss of flexibility, etc. You don't have to reinvent your swing. A couple of static set-up changes might really help out.
    • Good advice. In general, you want to take whatever weight you are lifting to a couple of reps before failure, for muscle growth. There are other tactics for PT related stuff. I would trust your PT person.  For muscle growth, you can go like 30 reps to failure. It is tougher to gauge. Also, it takes 2x as long to do the same number of working sets per week if you are doing 15 instead. It is way less efficient, but your case is special because of the injury/aggravation to the hip.
    • Several years ago I got paired with a twosome of golfers, one of which had a maybe 5-year-old son with him. The kid had a putter and a 7i with him, and on some holes he would drop a ball near the green, chip on, and putt. If the kid started to get distracted, the dad would ask, "Do you need to rest?" The kid would nod yes, and then take his dad's seat riding in the cart for a couple of holes. It was a slow day, and the kid was polite and friendly. We got through 18 just fine. (If it had been a crowded course day, I'm sure it would have been less pleasant.)
