He seemed pretty angry, I agree with @Abu3baid hem the "SUCK IT" gesture.  Fortunately for Bohn I doubt the PGA Tour are professional wrestling fans so the powers that be probably don't know what he gesture meant.

Basically it means "SUCK IT", I think it was coined by triple H, and it is a well known insult you do to taunt your opponents or others.

Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with him taunting the fans by fist pumping or starring them down or something similar, but you might as well give them the finger if you are going to do what you did (IMO giving the finger is a lot more civilized than what he did)

Yeah, that makes sense.  The other example I gave (Pete Weber) is a bit different now that I think about it.  He doesn't turn and look at his opponent, he just does it towards the pins or the camera or whatever.  It is basically known that he is just being a goof.

I guess its possible that the hecklers said some rude things to him, who knows?

You nailed it and I was going to say the same thing but didn't mention it, that the difference was the guy turned around and did the act at a specific group of people rather just celebrate. You would be able to easily tell if he was just celebrating for hitting the shot. The part you mention about the hecklers is most likely true and they probably said something to get him real angry. Now depending on what they said I'm sure he could have called over security and pointed people out or something maybe? I don't know if he had any other recourse action he could have taken, but my issue is just him bringing himself down to the level of the hecklers. (I'm trying to think of an alternative here, but maybe I should excuse him because it is obvious that his emotions really just took over) I just never expected a pro golfer to ever do that move, so I was just taken a little back.. I'm silly, they are humans after all!

This is great, Ryan Palmer was throwing golf balls into the crowd at 16...signed, "have a beer on me." Wrapped in $10 bill.

    • My course Elizabeth Manor hosts the Eastern Amateur every year in July. The best 'kids' shoot like -8 each day from the tips, so I think US Open qualifier would end up a 2-3 shots better. Basically it would be a game of misses - birdie misses.
    • For what it's worth, I never took Bryson as a bad person. Now more so, he seems way more genuine now than he used to be. He just leaning into his personality, and I think that is a good thing because he is a very entertaining golfer. I find his YouTube channel entertaining. He just made a questionable business decision in joining LIV.  I mean, man props to Bryson here. Bryson, during the final round, between the 17th and 18th hole signed the hat of a disabled kid. He didn't have to go out of his way to do this. Same for Rory, Rory stopped on by as well to greet the kid. Mad props to Rory as well.
    • It's funny because the USGA through the FSGA definitely had a formula for what they wanted to see. They were very careful to set up a very fair test. They didn't tip it out, and they actually moved a few holes up from the black tees because they didn't like how a tree was blocking out one side of the fairway or that every par 3 was over 195. There was a mixture of easier and harder pin locations and the greens were cut to their specs.  In the end, I think they accomplished their goal of identifying the best golfers that particular day. Finally, I would highly recommend attendance at one of these events. It was very spectator friendly where you could get really close to some really good guys and see them work their way around the course. There are no ropes, its quiet, and there are no hordes of crowds to navigate. I think Charlie Woods, who had a security detail, had between 15-30 people hanging around but others like Kutchar and LeMieux, really flew under the radar.
    • I mean, everything is so complicated now with the US being in bed with the House of Saud for so long   I did enjoy his unbridled enthusiasm and the fact that he graciously chose not to criticize Rory for dipping out
    • Just curious, why don't you usually hit driver there? Downwind would typically help keep it a bit straighter, and it seems like laying back some would bring that right fairway bunker into play, right? Looks like the only penalty stroke hazard would potentially be way left, right?
