No Tiger yet, one hour to his tee time. Every other player around his tee time has been there for a while.

Tigers been at the course for almost an hour, according to GC Tiger Tracker.

Great, they will start showing Tiger once it goes on TV. How they don't show him for hole 1 , I don't get.

because there's more to the PGA and The Masters than TW?

What's the point of a marker playing with Stricker today?

They've always used markers for the single players on weekends as far I can remember.  Protect the field? Slows the pace of the player? Who knows>

If Rory could only have that front 9 back from yesterday, he'd be right up there. I feel like he played those first 27 holes with no sense of urgency, and you could see after he walked off 9 yesterday that smoke was coming out of his ears and he just said "F- it, I'm aiming at every flag from here on out and going to smash every drive." And he has.

Would be interested to see how Rory would do if he would have played at Houston last week. Ken Schofield said last night that Rory played the week before in all 4 of his major wins. Why wouldn't you use that same formula this week? It's not like he left Bay Hill playing great golf. I was really surprised he didn't play at all in Texas.

I won't be surprised if a few of the -2 and better guys shoot 65-66. They can be aggressive.

Eagle gets him to T8. Seemed like he was dead in the water for quite a while. -7 for his last 11 holes helps.

Look at the ratings. Wit out TW last year, worse Masters ratings in 50 yrs. hate to break the news to you, but Tiger is the PGA. Admit it or not, it's true.

Speith can win this tourney today, but if he slips these guys will go after him hard.

I get a feeling they will toughen this course up for tomorrow

It appears they set the course up for Scoring today. Fowler's -5 for the day, Koepka's -4, Westwood's -3, Poulter's -3, Reed's -3....and they still have the easy par-5s to play on the back.

Soft Augusta really doesn't make for interesting viewing. It's not the Humana Challenge.

I agree. Not a fan of it this year. But I don't think there's much the Committee can do. They have the subair system to dry out the greens, but they also need the weather to cooperate. And the weather's been so wet and humid there of late, the greens just haven't dried out to where they wanted them. Today's really the first dry day they've had in a while, but it's not going to flip a switch just like that and get hard and fast.

Rory's irons appear to be on today.  Looks like he is sticking everything around 10-15 feet.  if he could make some putts he could go quite low.

    • The chatter in my brain is when the distance is between clubs since I am pretty weak at shortened backswings, etc. I try to simply decide if being long or short is the better outcome and choose my club based on that and simply not even try for the “real” distance.  For me a full normal swing is what I strive for.
    • I saw this comment made in a golf article... "Most golfers stand over a 4- or 5-iron still negotiating with themselves. They think about how hard to swing, whether they have the right club, if they have the aim correct and more. It’s a lot to deal with and long irons punish the “half-in” golf swing." I am not sure the "most golfers" is correct regarding the bolded part. I can understand if there is a bunker, water, and/or OB that a lot of golfers would be fixated on that. I am not sure that leads to ending up more times there. Pending your level in golf, the variance is so large in outcomes, it could be just with in the expected outcomes. I can understand if have a big lake on the right side of the hole being one of the most terrifying shots for right-handed amateur golfers.  I am not sure many golfers are standing over the ball talking to themselves, "Ok, maybe I should step back and pull the 4-iron. Am I lined up right? Oh, the wind came up, should I swing harder? What am I going to have for dinner tonight, maybe steak. (Joking, somewhat 😛)" A question is that how much chatter do you get while standing over the ball. Are you questioning the everything about your golf shot?
