I think Tiger believes that the warm embrace from the players, fans, and media at Augusta are somehow going to make up for the shortcomings of the past several months. They won't. He has the yips. You don't get over the yips.

Can you explain this further? I'm not sure how Tiger being friendly with fellow players and his kids is about making up his "shortcomings" with the yips.

Yeah, he's totally an unbiased source…

No, not really. He may have the yips, but him having the yips doesn't prove that he was trying to distract people from him having the yips by being friendly.

Yeah because of the angle, I can't tell the difference. I know Mvmac mentioned in one of the threads that there is a difference.

All I know is that he was using the bounce like a pro yesterday. Looked so comfortable.

Look at the difference with how much the shaft has "loaded". Yes definitely using the bounce.

I think Tiger believes that the warm embrace from the players, fans, and media at Augusta are somehow going to make up for the shortcomings of the past several months. They won't. He has the yips. You don't get over the yips.

If he had the yips he wouldn't be able to hit the shots he did yesterday. It would have shown up even in practice.

monday that stunt with firing balls at two greens he wasn't getting very many close at all. And do you think the golf channel would dare show any of his chunky chips (or talk about them) this week, like they did so endlessly leading up to the tournament, when it was deemed news people wanted to see and hear about? the media has no loyalties, they do an about face when it serves their purpose.

You might wanna check the GCTigerTracker, because according to them, he shot three or four under in eleven holes. Seems pretty good to me.

Also, you can't say that the media has no loyalties, and then say that they wouldn't show him chunking chips. That makes no sense.

on which ball? and was he playing o'meara for money? it was also reported he shot in the low-60s at Medalist with his 'worst ball', which even Notah Begay said was unbelieveable.

whether i say it the way i said it, or in reverse, it still applies.

Read about it: http://www.golfchannel.com/news/golf-central-blog/just-old-times-vintage-woods-display-monday/ .

it was also reported he shot in the low-60s at Medalist with his 'worst ball', which even Notah Begay said was unbelieveable.

66 worst ball. Notah said he texted Tiger after hearing Rosaforte's report and Tiger confirmed he shot a worst-ball 66.

These are all things you can look up.

Also, Tiger hasn't shown even the slightest display of the chipping yips yet. And you haven't yet explained what hugging old friends has to do with that anyway…

I have several links to tweets (because I have no f'ing idea how to embed tweets on here because I am a dumb idiot) that will show you his effectiveness on Monday.

Notah texted Tiger to confirm because he didn't believe Rosaforte's report. Only after Tiger told him so, did Notah believe it. Notah was a pro once too.

3-under in eleven holes in a practice round with O'Meara does not a tournament make. Mark will be nowhere near him when the tournament starts.

the report failed to mention his opening drive, which was 45 yards left and on the 9th hole, so it wasn't flawless. it was totally biased.

Lol, pretty sure he birdied that though.....

And I saw many reports eluding to the drive being ungodly left.

    • Ok, I'm trying to find a feel to hit a consistent ball flight (irons).  My current predicament.  1. I try to do the arms down stuff better, with the club feeling like it is way behind me more. It's just a cluster of results. Most of the time, I can't get any speed on the swing. If I get my arms down faster, I just throw them out.  2. I focus all my attention on turning better. Pushing off with my left leg and getting my right side through better. On the DTL view, this doesn't produce anywhere close where the hands and club should be. The result is usually ball first contact, lower ball flight, more centered contact.  At this point, I am going with option 2. Stop thinking about what the hands do. Just make a shorter backswing, keep it wide, turn through. Somehow, the club head finds the ball. My focus is so much on just making sure I turn, it's like, "Oh, that contact was better.... Oh, that bell flight looks playable." If not, I will just be practicing my entire summer.
    • Nope, they spent too much money. They are in over 28 million on the football roster and related NIL compensation at this point. Boosters associated with any Texas college football team has HUGE sway. The AD is between a rock and a hard place. They put a lot of money into Sorsby, at the chance of winning a NC this year. If you move on, you basically wasted a lot.  This is why Ohio State wants 3 QB's they feel can start. That is why the backups the past 5 years at some point transfer. Texas Tech has no backup near the quality of Sorsby. If they move on, they are screwed for 2026.
    • Maybe there's something I still don't understand about the situation. Wouldn't Texas Tech do itself a favor to move on from Sorsby at this point?
    • Day 281 6-10 Full swing, fast, getting low point ahead of "towel".  Working on flow during this seems to help.
