Why do pros play these shots? Seems like something they should be able to fix?

Why would they want to fix a push fade? I wish I could hit nothing but push fades.

Nothing to fix, it's just their pattern. This is how they do it. "Push" is in relation to their body alignments, not the target.

Push fades, like Couples. Look at where he aims he body at 1.

I remember Couples was the subject of an instructional article about his "loop lob" in Golf Magazine in probably 1993 or 1994.  It was an exaggerated outside path on the backswing that forced an inside path on the way down.  I used the pattern for a while with a bit of success until my brain got in the way.
