Basically what the chart shows, they feel it helps create more distance separation with the longer clubs.

I guess not knowing what the lofts are on my current set, it makes it hard to contrast.

I'll get a better sense at a fitting where they use a launch monitor how far the PW goes compared to mine which goes about 130.

It probably does, but it creates a need for an extra club on the high end of the bag. And the problem it's solving is debatable, since the long clubs where the gaps start falling apart are being replaced by hybrids anyway (and they're the ones pushing for that change themselves). So I'm not sure it's the best way to go.

Same here. Now if the new PW goes 135 and the 52° or whatever you have still goes about 115, you have to debate between getting their W1 and losing a club you like from elsewhere in your bag, or going all in on http://thesandtrap.com/t/82268/how-to-flight-your-wedges-and-short-irons

Wow, the T-MB's would make a wonderful gift... for me, those babies are the pick of the litter.

Yeah, I mean, ideally, they're W1 goes what my GW goes now and their W2 goes what my SW goes now - then no changes would be required.

Mark Crossfield did a video where he talks about the 716 line with one of the reps from Titleist.

Did he film this after he reviewed the irons this time? I love Mark, but he did a special on the M1 driver having not hit it, seen it, or read the press materials carefully and it was kind of ridiculous.

Yes, I believe so because this one he did live yesterday and then uploaded it and he tested out the 716's a couple of days ago.

I swear, British people can be awesome.

Check out this very thorough review of the 716 MB's.

Yeah, basically. If the MBs are right for you, you don't need a youtube review to tell you.

The MB's were a lot of fun to hit. Really nice sole design, leading edge doesn't "stick" in the ground the way some others do. They call it a pre-worn leading edge.

I hit the MB's and CB's today, they were both really nice clubs and as you can see in the pictures, great looking.  I hit them both well but could tell the MB's were too much club for my swing.  When I hit them well they had a really nice ball flight but when I missed the sweet spot they penalized me more than my 850 Forged.

The CB's were a bit more forgiving and I felt more comfortable swinging them.   Despite both the CB and MB having a higher MPF than the Mizuno MP-25's I thought the Mizuno's were more forgiving or I just hit them better.

If I was going to buy any Titleist irons, I'd go with the AP2's.

Where did you get a chance to hit the clubs? The reason I ask is because I'm headed downstate to Long Island tomorrow and if it was at the PGA superstore or something like that, I'd love to hit a few.

I do marketing for a local golf store and met with the Titleist rep.  I don't know if PGA superstore  or others have received their fitting carts yet.

Usually if they post the clubs on the product pages of their website the stores will have been provided their fitting carts so I think it's likely you will be able to hit them.

I haven't checked out their site. I'll probably go check it out anyway. I heard it's pretty cool.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
