Hello all.

My name is Kevin Sullivan and I retired from the U.S. Army and launched a Military Golf platform in partnership with the Golf Channel. MilitaryTeeTimes is simply the GolfNow for Military.

My goal is to get to know as many of you as possible and find some MilitaryTeeTimes partners.

MilitaryTeeTimes.com is FREE to join and is open to all Military Members, all Veteran's and all Military family members.

Though the site is relatively new, I would like to get everyones input on the site.

Thanks

Kevin

Welcome, and thanks for your sponsorship! A couple of quick questions that will save a little time comparing the sites.... Are the prices discounted off of the already discounted GN rates, or does that vary? In other words, will the MTT time always provide a deeper discount that the GN time? Do GN and MTT have the same exact courses and times available? Does a time booked on one, update in somewhat real time on the other? Does the GN fee structure apply to MTT, or does it differ? Thanks!

The site appears to be fairly easy to navigate. It also appears as if all GN fees apply and that the "military discounted" tee times are simply re-badged GN Hot Deals. Is that right? Do points accrue toward the GN Rewards Program when using MTT?

Thanks for connecting David.  GN is a partner site and we do draw realtime data from the same sources. GN Hot Deals + additional 15% off = Military Discount pricing (dog tags).

An additional 15% discount is taken at checkout for all verified members of MTT.  There is also a discount on the online fee.

Hope this helps

Kevin

Thanks Kevin. Discounts only apply to the "dog tag" Hot Deals that require non-refundable payment in advance, right? Are the fees discounted for the non-dog tag deals? Do you accrue GN rewards for booking times, or are those exclusive to GN itself? Have to admit that GN completely lost me when they changed their fee structure last year.

The additional 15% military discounts are applied at checkout to the "dog tag" deals.  These are greatly reduced and do require non-refundable payment in advance.

The online booking "fee" are discount on ALL tee times booked on MilitaryTeeTimes.
We are in the process of adding the same GN rewards program to MTT.  The two systems are not currently tied to one another.

Our goal to simple.  We want to become the go to golf booking service for all Military Members, All Veteran and All Military Family members.

Stay tuned - The number of "Military Discounted" tee times will continue to grow (Exponentially).

Good to hear. If you could/would implement a fee structure like GN used to have, and which other sites currently use, by which after a user has booked 10 rounds, their fees are waived for the remainder of the year and for the following year, I know that a lot of people would be attracted. I would certainly jump all over it. Paying $10 (or even $8.50) to book every 4-some is my point of pain. I'll be following what you guys do, and to see how/if you're able to separate yourselves from the GN business model. Here's hoping...!

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
    • I played tennis in college. I thought block practice was great for serves because you were starting the point and  you could easily adjust where you wanted to place the ball based off the same motion. I equate those to tee balls. I despised block practice for groundstrokes once you reached a certain level and your fundamentals were good. To me, hitting a 100 crosscourt backhands in a row was silly because I would never do that in a match. I needed to randomize it by hitting some deep, some angled, all with different speeds and spins. I share that same thought about iron play. Because we seldom hit the same approach shots hole after hole, I prefer to practice irons randomly.
