Normally in a cart this isn't an issue, but when I walk, it's pain. I'm hoping someone could give me some ideas on how to keep my rangefinder accessible and not keep dropping it. Maybe I need a new bag??? I kept resting it on top of the bag and it would drop down in the bag and I'd wind up dumping all my clubs to get to it. Or, worse, I'd forget about it and drop it somewhere along the way. It's a Leuopold and doesn't have a place to attach a lanyard. To me that would make sense as you could just loop it over an iron while you hit your shot. Anyone use Velcro or anything similar?

Thanks!!!!

I presume you only carry? If so, it's kind of nerdy and also the main reason I don't normally use a rangefinder, but there is usually a belt loop for the carrying case.

Thinking about it you could use the ball pocket as well? I just feel a little uncomfortable about it falling out.

Thanks...Yea I agree about the nerd factor and I don't like to have anything I can feel like that during my swing. Probably just me. I do ride, but I also enjoy walking if the weather is nice. Ball pocket would work, but it's not exactly what I have in mind since it would make it less accessible.

Doesn't your Leuopold have a case with a clip on it? Mine does. I attach my case to one of the accessory rings on my bag, and simply put the rangefinder back in the case after every use. It takes 2 seconds, and I always know right where to find it.

Yep pretty much the way everyone I see walking does it.

The case for mine has a clip on it, if yours just has just a belt loop you could just as easily put a carribeaner in there. Then I just clip it to my bag on top of my towel, ride or carry that's where it is when I need it.

I put it in my push cart storage compartment if I'm walking or a pocket in my bag if riding. Easy access and quick to take out.

Yes mine does have a belt loop but my concern with putting a carribeaner on it and hooking it to the bag was the closure itself is magnetic and doesn't appear to take a whole lot to pop open. Just a little paranoid I guess.

That's what I do also.

My Bushnell has a case with a clip (for the bag) and an elastic loop speed "clip" and a zipper.

I put mine (also a Leupold) in the small storage area right in front of me on the push cart, the one that has the rubber band on top to hold a score card. When riding, I keep the rangefinder in the open storage compartement in front of me in the cart (driving or passenger side, wherever I happen to sit that day), the place where you can place a sandwich or what have you.

Just make sure to not forget it in the cart at the end of the round and make sure to put it back in the bag: I forgot once and then the course later claimed they never found it, which at other courses I know is ground for firing of the cart crew if they don't turn it in...

Most laser carry cases has a hook/clip and velcro fastener.............so you can secure/clip it to one of many places on a golf bag.
