The segway technology looks like it's making a leap to a 2 wheeled board that is self balancing.  Recently the companies have started releasing off road models.  I wonder if these things have enough horse power to carry a rider that is pushing a push cart.

Here's an example of one : http://leviboard.com/product/leviboard-off-road/

What do you guys think?  Seems like a much cheaper option to the Golf Board that came out about a year ago, and much less likely to lead to having to pay a trail fee.

I saw someone commuting on one of those the other day, it looked nice.

But there's no way it can work for golf IMO, standing on one and pushing a cart? dangerous, and silly.

Darn, I haven't seen one in person; only the videos online.  Based on what you saw did it not look stable enough to push a cart?  Wonder if it could take the weight of carrying a bag on my back.... I know they are rated to 250 lbs and I'm 180, so shouldn't be over the weight limit.

I would Segway my way around a course. Though I might find I would keep getting off track. :-P

Well, I still like it better than the other options.  If I get to the point in my life where I'm willing -- and able-- to drop thousands of dollars on a personal golf vehicle, I won't be splitting hairs over 3K. :-D

Seems like a lot less of a hassle and a lot cheaper just to rent a cart. I can't imagine lugging some of those things around except the Segway model.

    • Day 8 (8 May 25) - Rinse, repeat of yesterday’s drill session with the subbing of the 54 in lieu of the 7i and of course real balls (kept the shots to less than 30yds).  Made a total of about 40 swings focusing again on the palming of the trail hand to get a smooth swing thru.  Side bar drill - after school the grandson asked me to chip foam balls for him to hit with his plastic bat (two fold drill - I get to really focus on a target window (and I had to really focus) and he gets to work on swing timing - and he was killing it)….
    • Hmmm. This will probably suck.
    • I can definitely tell the difference in stability. Hitting putts down a yardstick is WAY easier with the heavier options. I think everyone’s comments have solidified the need to at least browse for a new putter 😄.
    • Day 1: Putting start lines using a yardstick.
    • 100% go get fitted. If your ball speed and spin is too low, you will need clubs to compensate for you.  Most set ups are like Driver, 3-wood, 5-wood, irons, wedges or Driver, 3-wood, hybrid, irons, wedges. For people who struggle with distance, I would say something like Driver, 3-wood, 5-wood, 7-wood or hybrid, hybrid, irons, wedges are good because woods and hybrids really help get good gaps. I think people with higher swing speeds like long irons more. That could be more personal preference.  I like woods and hybrids over long irons. I have never been a good long iron player. I have been thinking of revamping my bag to be more like... Driver, 3-wood, 5-wood, 7-wood (maybe hybrid) and make 5 iron my longest iron. It has been the longest iron I hit the most consistent. When I was using Game Golf years ago, my 4 iron average distance was about my 5 iron distance because of all the mishits.  There is that as well, just tracking which clubs you like to use. My dad has like 2 fairway woods and 2 hybrids. They are designed to help get the ball in the air and land softly.
