Played a nine hole executive course near my house. Par 33. Went around twice - Even the first time and 4 over the second (Hit one OB)... The course was absolutely soggy after we got 4.50" of rain Monday afternoon in just over 2 hours. Water squished up around my shoes in some places.

Shot 82 yesterday 70.4/124. Had 31 putts, hit 5/14 fairways, had 4 GIR. 3 of the fairways I missed were by a few feet. Same with a few GIR's. Iron play is what killed me yesterday. Had many opportunities to stick it close and just didn't. All my irons were fading to the right which I was surprised about. Decent day though

39-39-78. Blistered the ball tee to green on several of the holes on the back nine, including the last four. Just couldn't convert any of the 20-foot birdie putts. Disappointing.

Did fix something in the ol' swing though.

40-44..Had a double and 2 triples on the back nine (got into some trouble hitting the driver on holes I shouldn't have). Finished even over the last 4 holes though including a nice 15ft curling putt on 18 for birdie to salvage a decent round.

shot a one over 36 at my home course... made 2 birdies and 3 bogeys...and both those birdies were two putts...it was a weird day, i hit the ball really well and had two random chunks. and i had a 3 putt, i never do that at this course.

yesterday 53/48 from the gold tees, talk about Jeckyl and Hyde. Could't putt for beans. Today from the blacks, the tips, I shot 52/52. Putted well today. Go figure. I won $41 in team and skins. We play gross and net skins, gross beats a net.

I shot a legit 40 for nine on Saturday. While it was a pretty short course, it was an excellent score for me and came fairly easily. If I can string a couple of those together I'll be a happy camper. It was nice because I'd been playing horribly for a couple of weeks.

Shot a 40 today, just awful conditions. The ground was rolling nowhere and the course I played was pretty long. Driver, 7 irons today when it's usually driver, wedge.

76...on a par 71. Scored well but did not hit my tee shot very well. Only hit 4 good tee shots all day. I don't know what the heck is wrong with my driver. I am playing marching golf.... left...right....left....right.

I played a course that I used to play during my college days. It was good to play that course again because it's probably my favorite one around.

I didn't feel that good about my day, but I looked at my scorecard and saw an 83. I don't know how that happened, but I'll take it.

The only things that stand out to me was a 9-iron to about three feet on a par-3 on the back nine. I birdied it, and I sunk four or five putts in the six to eight feet area throughout the rest of the round.

I guess I just "grinded" as Tiger would say. I felt very fortunate to card an 83.

It rained Sunday morning so my two regular partners bailed. I had promised my youngest son (8 1/2) that he could come play with us so I didn't want to let him down by canceling. It was not much more than a mist for the first few holes. Neither one of us even opened our umbrellas.

I shot an uninspiring 45 with more good shots than bad ones. I just couldn't pull it all together. We had a great time and he played pretty well considering it was the first time he had played on a regulation length course. He was pretty tired on the last few holes from carying his clubs.

    • Good advice.  When you see a golfer taking short steps, looking down at the ground, it's probably checking for temporary water.  There are plenty of cases were just hitting it from the bad lie is better than where you would drop it. Like hitting of a cart path.
    • Yea I find it ridiculous people having an issue that he could drop in the fairway. Every relief situation is its own instance. You re-assess after a drop. Sometimes the drop is in your favor or not.  Too many scramble only golfers commenting on golf rulings. Usually scrambles you need to maintain the same lie if you hit with in a club length of the ball. 😉
    • MSN J. J. Spaun relief from sprinkler head under fire for not being in the spirit of the game. While I understand the advantage he gains by dropping a ball that ended up in rough in the fairway doesn't seem to kosher in lot of people's eyes, but I suspect this happens more often than lot of people realize and players take the entitled relief every time when the opportunity present itself. Not fair to call him out as a person of 'no integrity' IMO.  A lot of people do not know that both fairway and rough are part of the same general area and ROG does not distinguish them as far as relief is concerned.
    • Jack played in 7 tournaments in 1986. He was on his way out. He was not training or trying to be the best in the world. Honestly, he just caught some good golf at the right time.  Who says Jack wasn't battling injuries at that time either? A lot of stuff wasn't reported on until post 2000 in terms of covering athletes.  At what capacity? He can play, but he can't compete at any sort of level for the PGA or Senior Tour.  Yes, most of them walk away.
