I finally finished in the money in my golf league this week (14th out of 15 places paid.) Not only that but I also won a skin which, since we were rained out in the middle of the round last week, was worth double this week.

I shot eight over for nine holes, but seven of those shots over par came on two holes. I was one over for the other seven with two bogeys and a birdie.

77 with 4 boogies, 1 double boogie and 1 birdie. 6 over in the front and 1 under on the back.

Yesterday, I shot 1 under. Overall, I am pleased that I was able to shoot 5 over after a great round yesterday. The back nine today was a nice rebound from the poor front.

80.....42/38. Pace of play horrible on front. Played like I knew what I was doing on the back. 7 pars, two bogeys. easy. The stat lives on......9 greens, 80 or better.

77 at a reciprocal course in Buffalo area, Orchard Park . Just starting to hit the ball better. Didn't have much luck or I'd have shot 73, but that kind of stuff happens and I'll get some good breaks another round and shoot a 73 that should have been a 77.

Hit one great 8-iron, a few busted 3-woods, a really good hybrid from a horrible lie, some nice drives (even if they were a yard off the fairway), and another good iron on another hole.

Played Bethpage Black today at 7:00am one day after thr New York State open. The winner of the NY Open shot 5 over for 54 holes so needless to say I got my butt kicked and shot 91.It was 97 degrees and very little wind so hitting it in the woods was a GOOD thing.

35-36=71, Babe Zaharias Golf Course (67.9/102), Port Arthur, Texas. Hit 16 greens in reg, unfortunately 3 putted #2 and #3 for bogeys to start the round off. 5 birdies on the day, only hit 6 fairways, but absolutely killed the driver today, drawing on command. Course is dry and hard right now, ball ran through all the fairways I missed.

Tee-ed off on the back, shot a 37 (+2), with 6/9 greens, 2 birdies and 2 doubles, then shot a 42 on the front (+6), not my best finish to a round with a double on the 8th, a 481m, par 5, smashed a drive, hit a 5-wood into the right pot, then thinned a 56* out of the bunker into the water that is located to the left of the green.
So i ended up with 36 points with 4 doubles, 2 bogeys and 2 birdies.
Hopefully better putting and bit better with the wedge tomorrow, or even monday.

76 at Whispering Woods . Didn't play really well or really poorly. Nothing to get excited about or disappointed about, either.

    • Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.
    • I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.
    • I found it entertaining, but the announcing was lousy.  How did the measuring on the final shot start with Rory being closer and being told he won, and then with no explanation it turns out Scottie won?  Weird.
    • Day 128 12-18 Worked on rotation and getting to lead side. Still working on the flow feeling while doing that. Recorded swings.
    • IMO-the only thing entertaining was the relay race. Everything else was excruciatingly boring...or just  stupid, like the 14-club thing. Watching guys blade wedges into the water over and over is not at all interesting.
