39 for 9 on Sunday. 2 birdies and one blow-up hole (quadruple bogey on a long par 3 because I hit two in tall grass which I couldn't find). Everything was great except for that hole.

I need to avoid these blow-up holes.

I shot a 90 today! I know that's not big news for a lot of folks, but for me it's golden. I have shot a 78 and 83 before, but I almost discount those because the course I shot them on was kind of a joke and maybe only 5,000 yards.... maybe. But, for a guy who's only been playing for a year I'm pretty stoked to shoot a 90 on a local muni. My favorite stat of the day was my 1.6 putts per hole. 28 putts, 14 on the front where I shot a 42 and 14 on the back and that included a chip in.

73 with three 3 putts. Greens have just been aerated and the lag putts were hard to judge. Still should have made them. I had a chance to shoot under par for the first time and just let it slip away. Well maybe next time.

Last week shot a 82 at a fairly short course, around 6300 from the blue tee's. Today I played at a different one, around 6600 yards, shot a 80 with a 44 on the front and a 36 on the back. It was my first round with my new fairway woods and irons.

My swing felt awkward and my shots looked like crap for most part. Burned edges of the cup on 8 holes!!!

It was one of those days where my swing sucked but I scored well enough to shoot 84 (with two Triple bogeys!!!). Damn, I really need to eliminate these blow-up holes! It's not like I try any heroic recovery shots, it's just that I hit bad shot after bad shot...

Shot 78 (+6) from the blues at a local muni (6900 yds-my longest course to date), 71.5 rating/130 slope. Had 3 birdies, including one on the 474 yd par 4 18th that stands as probably my best hole to date.

Shot a 39 for 9 holes. Pretty happy considering that it was raining the whole time and windy. Only had 12 putts. Also had 2 sand saves, which was a pleasant surprise.

Shot a ~40 on a 9 hole course. The course had large puddles on most holes, being that it rained for 5 days straight here. I was getting fed up with not golfing.

I played 9 holes in the pouring rain this morning and shot horribly...remind me to never play in the rain again. I stopped keeping score after 5 holes, but I'm sure I was in the 50's or 60's.

Shot a 37(+1) for 9 holes today. Played well, barely missed a couple of birdie putts that could have made the round even better. Putter is on fire lately!!!

Played an executive this evening, shot even par (31) for the front 9, shot -1 through 14 before I called it a day.

    • Day 24: did a stack session. Worked a bit on downswing feels during breaks.
    • Day 444 - 2025-12-18 Light day of hotel room work. GEARS Summit v2.0 today. Good day.
    • Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.
    • I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.
    • I found it entertaining, but the announcing was lousy.  How did the measuring on the final shot start with Rory being closer and being told he won, and then with no explanation it turns out Scottie won?  Weird.
