I shot a 106 on Sunday... my second-best score ever. Then I tried to play another 18, and only finished 15 holes.

Then I shot in the 120s on Monday. I exhausted myself on Sunday.

Maybe I need to limit myself to 18 holes in a day when I get to play.

I got into golf due to TW2004 on my then-roommate's XBox. It gave me very unrealistic expectations for driving distance, accuracy, and the speed at which one improves.

I didn't shoot anything today, but I was so happy to finally get on a driving range after three months of snow and cold, it felt like I escaped from prison!!

I actually went outside . Had a golf club in my hands , and hit a bucket of golf balls .

The weather held out once again this weekend and I was able to go out and play on Saturday. Then it snowed yesterday!

I played pretty well, hitting 8 of nine greens on the back which is unheard of for me. As you can imagine, I'm pretty happy with this round!

I have a tournament coming up this Saturday, so this is a nice boost of confidence!

A final note: I was testing out the new HiBore XL Tour during this round...will let that just sink in

Whats up....nice round man. Is there just the one course in Fernley? I played down there a couple years ago with a buddy of mine. Cant remember which hole it was but it was a dogleg right par 5 with a house right on the corner and man that thing had been peppered.

Yep...the only course out here in "Ferntucky".

It used to be called Desert Lakes...but it was sold and renamed The Golf Club at Fernley.

The hole you're speaking of is the 12th. I love that hole I think I've eagled it about 25% of the time I play it. As you can see, though...I only managed a par on Saturday. Oh well

Take it easy!

I hacked around a 91 today. The worst score I've had in about a year. I played my new home course - Oak Point (Kiawah). Wind was up a bit, but really never felt comfortable with my irons. I have Callaway X20's and they are about a month old. I think in the next month I should feel more comfortable over the ball with them.

Shot 73 today. Hit the ball like a 66, putted like an 80. I hit 14 greens and 9 Fairways. I missed 2 putts inside 3 feet and 3 more inside 6 feet. I only had one 3 putt, but jeez I should be under par every time I hit 14 or more greens. My putting is soooo freaking bad!

I shot an 83 not today, but on Saturday. It was a very nice day with a bit of wind. The course was a par 72 so I was rather pleased with my game today. I hit pretty consistent drives and my putting was also fairly good.

Shot an 82 on Saturday - 3 doubles on the front as I was working the rust off and the irons were not exactly clicking. First time out since last October. Surprisingly, I putted quite well too (except the 4 footer I missed for birdie on 14)!

    • Day 27 (7 Dec 25) - Got in a few swings with 9i and hard foam balls in backyard.  Setup weight fwd (rebuilt left foot really lets me feel the weight in a slightly painful way) - kept the backswing to around 9 o’clock focusing on contact and resulting divot pattern.  Like how the hard foam balls come off the face (almost like real balls in sound).  A good abbreviated session as I only able to hit about a dozen balls in the fading light.
    • Day 117 12-7 A bit of chipping practice today. Full swing- hit some real balls to see where Im at.
    • Not the part I was replying to: Handicaps did not go down much (like 0.14 on average IIRC?) when we went from 10/20*0.96 to 8/20. And a good chunk of that was from the +s.
    • I think he meant in the UK. The old system was completely different from the new one. 10/20 x 0.96 vs 8/20 would really only impact very low handicaps I think. The 0.96 serves to increase differentials for plus differentials, where 8/20 vs 10/20 works to lower differentials for all. I don't know many plus golfers who would be upset that their index got lower. A lot of really good players don't even really keep their handicaps up-to-date. They're much more interested in their WAGR rankings which get them entries to certain events.
    • Day 433 - 2025-12-07 Got some work in after Junior Elite before a night of sports (and the return of my wife!). Backswing work. Similar to what a lot of my juniors are doing.
