43 on a fairly easy course.  Didn't lose a ball though which is nice.  Had some great drives, and two not so good drives.  I just couldn't putt which has become the bane of my golf game.  I can't seem to get the speed down on my putts.  Really starting to drive me nuts, but just need more practice.

33 on a par 32 little course in the neighborhood (one of those was a penalty stroke) - longest hole is 250 - no slope or rating - all holes pretty much straightaway - they do keep the fairways and greens in great shape.  Good players would just treat this as a par 27 course.

Only really hit two bad strikes.  I think my game has multiple personalities.

8 of 9 GIR, but only able to convert one hole to birdie ....  but now getting more opportunities anyway.

Nothing but 4's and 5's on the card today. If I could make a putt outside of 4 feet, I may break 80.

45..... Played a tough course, especially so for lefties. Thank god for my short game cause I could not hit my long irons worth a d***. That said it was a beautiful day so ill take any score over being at work

Played in my first ever competitive match today. It was high school golf. 9 holes best score in sets of three holes. On a wide open course on a windy day me and my partner beat a guy who was in the finals last year. We scored 2 1/2 points out of possible 3. I myself won 4 of the holes!!

A disappointing 89 on a 71.2/117. Drove the ball well (11/14 fairways) but only 5 GIRs, FIVE 3-putts, and missed 3 or 4 up-and-downs putting from the fringe. Frustrating. I teed up a 6i on a 165yd downhill par 3 over a pond and bladed it into the water. But I hit every shot well with my new Taylor 4h, maybe I should buy the 3h as well. Chipped in from about 30ft to save par which turned things around a bit on the back nine. I entered my brother's scores into GolfLogix, under his name - how do I view his scorecard? I can't seem to find his data.

31 for 9 holes on a fairly easy par 35 side. I went to the course to do some welding on a mower so I decided to play a quick nine when I got done. Used up some luck that I would rather have tomorrow in the money game when I only had a two inch birdie putt on one of the par 3s. Used some more luck when I hit a sand wedge in the hole from 85 yards for an eagle on a par 5 after a bad tee shot and a good three wood second shot.

Don't know if there is any luck left in the tank for tomorrow or not.

I shot a 110! From the white tees 6394 yds par 72. Its the first time I've keep a legitimate score without rehitting my mishits. Hit slices and hooks off the tee with no real pattern. Had a blast, drank some beer, and believe it or not played the best I ever have. I suck right now but I'm getting better. I had 1 30 min lesson 2 days ago and will continue to take lessons. I can't wait!!!

Shot the best round of my life last weekend and it was an 86.  Today I shoot the best round of my life and it was an 85. I can't wait for my 2 day tournament next weekend.  Would have finished better if I wasn't light headed from it being 98 degrees and I ran out of water with 5 holes to go.

96 @ Quail Brook, NJ. 50/46. Left so many shots on the course. Hitting birdie putts like I left the headcover on the putter. Routinely going to for putting for birdie to making bogey.

    • Day 14, April 22.  This morning, before going to work, I took the time to hit two dozen balls (indoors, off the mat, into the net), all with a 6-iron.  As before, this was focused on the pelvis separation and the length of the backswing -- yesterday's video view was encouraging that I'm making progress.
    • Hey folks, Here's be a better video that outlines some of my challenges.  Any suggestiosn welcome.
    • I enjoyed the distance wedges episode. It's something that I've not really taken the time to figure out for sure, but I went to a local trackman place over the winter and tested my four wedges (PW, AW, 54, 58) and got four yardages with each one. I am using Dan Grieve's method - you have a 1, 2, 3, and "full". The number references the number of clubhead widths between your heels.  I never really got to grips with the clock method - I'd find my 9:00 one day would go 40 yards and the next day 60 yards purely based on how fast I happened to swing it, but I couldn't turn that off and I was basically at sea with the speed method (Wesley Bryan does this - he takes almost a full swing for a 15 yard chip). The Grieve method I set my stance width and that really limits how much my swing moves back and forth and the speed seems to be naturally more consistent.  Anyway, I wound up with four yardages for each club - PW 48, 80, 112, 127; AW 41, 73, 101, 112; 54 36, 57, 91, 98; 58 28, 47, 81, 86 So, in order, I have 28, 36, 41, 47, 48, 57, 73, 80, 81, 86, 91, 98, 101, 112, 112, 127 which gives me a pretty good set of numbers. I do have a big gap from 57 to 73, but I can do a 2.5 58, which is giving me about 64. Then as they noted you can give it a bit more, or grip down on a club too to adjust a little bit. It's really useful and very freeing to just know what to do. When you have a 54 yard pitch, rather than pulling my 58 and thinking how hard is 54, I can just take my 54, do a "2" swing and just grip down a little and I'm in decent shape.  Incidentally, Erik talked a bit about watching Scheffler picking off his yardages to within a yard. I've watched DJ do that too with his wedges. Scottie does it trying to hit it all the way up to like 200 exactly with a 6-iron and he's hitting it 200.5, 199.7, etc. Absolutely mind blowing how good his distance control is. Insane.
