I can't believe any TSTrs from the south have'nt made any 'haha' posts, so I'll do it - here at the Jersey shore I generally play year round. Although, last winter really sucked.

I wouldn't be calling 'HaHa' from the Jersey Shore. Our temps here in the Philly Burbs are pretty similar to Atlantic City. We may be able to play but it's not ideal conditions. I soldiered through it this past weekend (41 degrees, cloudy and windy) but am paying the price with a bit of a cold now.

We have a dome just a couple miles from work so a few of us have a standing weekly lunch to hit a bucket, take vids, and help each other with drills and advice.

There are a few bars with simulators nearby - haven't been to one yet.  Good for laughs.

If I had a choice, it would be a dome. All we have up here are a couple simulators and I don't how trustworthy the feedback is. I still prefer the sims over my net at home. And I prefer the net over not hitting anything at all.

I lose a lot of balls that way, at least until the Spring thaw.

This surprises me, I'm not a big fan of sims at all.  Last year @colin007 and I went to this place and did like 9 holes on a SIM and the numbers were so off it didn't make it very enjoyable.

Then again, at least for me, it could have been the company I was keeping.

That's about 50-60mi south of me. I play mostly Hollywood GC, Eagle Ridge, Lakewood CC, and others. Played Seaview a long time ago in a junior tournament but haven't been there since. I do go down and play Sea Oaks a couple times a year though.

Let me know if you ever want to join up - I can do Sea Oaks, Atlantis, or Ocean Acres. I kind of learned on OA and Atlantis - both kind of cow pasture munis, but I have a soft spot in my heart for them.

Right near the back bays, winter temps can be 5 - 10* warmer than the Philly area. Plus, you probably know that for most winter storms, the rain/snow line is usually right down the I-95 corridor. So when Philly gets snow, we almost always get liquid water. Although, last winter was an anomaly. We had a couple events where SE got more snow than NW. Then, it turned cold so the snow stayed on the ground for what seemed forever...I thought I was going to lose my mind.

Because of the El Nino this winter, I hope to be playing every week all the way through.

Here in Bangalore, India, other than the monsoon (rainy season), we can play any time of year.  It is generally never too hot or too cold for play.  So no particular preference for me with regards to dome or simulator, though all considered I would probably prefer the dome since you get to see your actual ball flight as opposed to what the computer says your shot will do.  Not saying it is not reasonably accurate, but can it ever be 100%

I'll check it out this winter. I usually pack the clubs away once the greens freeze up but would like to keep it going this year. I have the option of Ocean City, MD but that is a haul for me for just weekend golf.

As I said, I don't trust the numbers either (I never have, nor will I ever, hit a 5 iron over 200yds), and given the choice, I'd rather hit at a dome.

But... are you telling me you wouldn't want one at your house if they were affordable?

I took your comments to mean that you prefer to go drive to the place with the sims with their untrustworthy numbers over hitting into your net at home.

IF I had one at home, and somehow could adjust it to give me true numbers, then, yes, I'd likely prefer it over my net.

I've been watching since your post but there really hasn't been any significant difference. If I want to hit warmer weather it looks like I need to go more south which is a pain for me as I have to go so far west to get going down 95.

I use both.. Trackman driving range 20 an hour once a week.. Sports dome 10 per half hour. I usually hit 5-7 irons in the dome but can work on trajectory flight etc.. the trackman i use for numbers and really helps getting carry distances as long as they are accurate. I also video myself in both.
