Too cold for the range today even with heated stalls(-10* windchill). Practiced getting more forward flexion in front of a mirror. I also practiced some backswing drills and checkpoints in a mirror. After working on that I spent a good half hour on my putting stroke. Practiced the gate drill and also checked in on my putting stance and setup.

I'm suffering from polar vortex too but did manage half an hour on backswing drill and some pivot drill hitting balls into net in barn. Beginning to see how to power off right side into impact. Just another new feeling in the golf swing.

Under construction, signature and game.

Great practice day today. Spent the morning working on the 1/2 swing with the 7-iron inside. Then, went to the driving range (heated... but barely... the polar vortex made it challenging). I was the only one out there in the cold, until another guy came by. Anyway, worked on the swing flow with the hip/shoulder rotation through impact. Also, working on the takeaway and wrist hinge up through A2. Worked on another priority item as to keeping the right wrist relaxed at the A4 so the shaft is not as upright as it's been. Focused on the Driver, 7-iron and 3 hybrid. Worked out a specific issue with my wrist turn from the A1 to A2  which straightened out nicely.

Came back home and worked on the 6-iron inside on 3/4 swing and took some videos to review. Still need more shoulder rotation through the impact. Posted the videos on MySwing (below). Also, worked a bit on my putting stroke. 3x3x3 drills.

Went to the driving range. Continuing to focus on extensor action and keeping the shaft laid off at the top. I think I am finally starting to get it.

More backswing rotation drills. Getting better at introducing weight shift.

Valentine's day is reducing my golf time because I have to drive my kids around again.

Went to the range today. Continued my work on the downswing pivot and regaining my forward flexion. I also did some mirror work focusing on my setup and posture.

Started working a golf notebook to log and track changes on my swing. Reviewed some video that took last night on Analyzr and made some observation to add to the notes. Practiced with the backswing rotation A1 through A4.... Using the centered pivot drill that I saw on TST really helped. Going to be adding this to my pre-shot routine.

Second part of practice worked on the movement of A4 through A7 focusing on the hip turn, which was lacking in my videos. More work to do on this in the upcoming week.

Played 7 holes. Didn't have driver until the 6th hole so I used 3W teeing off most holes. Getting used to the swing chances off the tee, need to work more on my iron play on the course.

Yoga, backswing and medicine ball routines. A couple things are happening since I started this combination of drills. I'm becoming more aware of feelings in my legs, aka foundation of base of swing. One poise especially, standing in the mountain, working in combination of focus in mirror drills to be aware of no swaying. I feel the potential to unleash power.

Ok, good phase 1 feel. Next phase, where will ball go, distance and direction. Something to look forward to in post polar vortex phase!!

My groundhog calculation is on 29 days counting until I can see results on range.

Did alot of mirror work today focusing on my downswing pivot. Made very slow swings with a 7 iron. Im really trying to ingrain regaining forward flexion on the downswing. Ive not used my right leg the proper way in the downswing for so long that I have alot of work to do.

Did a lot of stretching to help regain some flexibility. My hips and legs are really tight from doing too much driving at the driving range.

Good practice day... spent some time working on the 7iron setup and backswing/rotation. Read the first 1/2 of LSW. Then, got an Evolvr analysis back and spent some time taking notes in my golf notebook. Went to the range in the afternoon (in spite of the snows... no one there, go figure).  Worked on the new priority items.... getting club shallower at the top of the swing (A4) and pausing before the downswing. I felt like it was more like a Hedecki swing, but looking at the video, the pause wasn't that pronounced (read: feels are not real). Also, need to continue working on the rotation and relaxing the hands more and making sure they don't come too much in to the left. The ball strike was more solid than its ever been. The stupid monkey thing seems to be working. Here is a clip of today's practice session for your review....

Played 18 holes yesterday.   Warmed up great.   Played like crap.   Made one birdie.   Sprained my wrist and had to quit on 16th hole.
