Spieth not doing anything for you is not the same as hating him.

he is the best out there by a mile

but for some reason I don't really get excited when he is leading (I have this with other players also)

maybe its his playing style, maybe it's because he is still a young guy and is fairly reserved, quiet(which I think are great qualities btw)

im not sure, whatever it is, i don't actively root for him , but I also don't hate him and for sure marvel at his good play like any golf fan would

Golf needs a new Seve. I'm not begrudging Spieth at all, but this looks a bit like the golf equivalent of computer chess. It's all very logical, methodical, and cautiously executed.

An awful lot of top-notch computer chess is based on lookup tables, actually...

Two of the best approaches you'll see at 11 from Willett and Westwood - who was in the trees. Man we need someone to get something going.

Currently focusing on: Key 4 - shorter backswing.

What's in the bag: Callaway X2 Hot Driver, Titleist 915F 3 wood, X2 Hot 3 Hybrid, 3, 5-AW Apex Pro irons, 54*, 58* Cleveland RTX, Odyssey Versa 1 Putter

Unfortunately that would be Bubba in a way.

So what you're saying is rather than someone with an overall strong game and an abillity to think their way around a course, you'd prefer to see someone with one extreme standout skill that provides a simple narrative as to 'why' they won?

I like the course strategizing, but hopefully as he matures as a golfer, Spieth can speed up the process or get more of it done while the other guy is hitting.

Beautiful approach by Jordan at #9.

Spieth doesn't have the distance of Day, Rory or Dustin, he's playing the best game he can with his current level of ability and he's been very successful at it.  He's playing the game in the way LSW teaches us to play as amateurs, it might not be exciting, but it's very effective.

Kinda.

He's hitting some pretty bad approach shots. His greenside shots are good, and his short putting (SV②) is really good.

He's not making any big mistakes. Some of that has been, for him this week, luck. For example, to have a ball in play at 4? Luck. To get up and down for par? That's a skill that's typically lower on the SV list because most people will make 4 from there.

I think it's a bit exciting.  Not as exciting as some of the bombers when they're on, but fun to watch just the same.

The groundscrew wants to produce another Fred Couples.

Jordan's not going to let #17 and #18 get exciting, is he?  Four in a row to close out the first nine.

The back nine will be key for Jordan, he's got some bad memories to overcome from yesterday.  Willet is going to stay in his rear view to keep some pressure on.

Game over, I think. He's been quality this week - the best player out there, whether a bit lucky in parts or not.

Louis with an amazing ace.  J.B. has to put his back.
