I haven't checked this out yet and for the most part already know that if there is one person using it in my area I would in complete amazement. I know if it is like twitter/instagram I will have a hard time using it. I find those websites completely off putting.

Pretty much the same here, those things tend to be older retired guys who play skins games mid day at the courses during the week. The main course I play up here has skins games on the weekend but that wouldn't really be worth my time if they would even let me in. I was surprised to see a few people from my area on the app but most of them are quite young and doubt they'd care to play with someone my age. I was able to join an "ohio golfers" group, unfortunately it seems right now that the active members are on the opposite side of the state so far.

Foot-golf was a pretty smart idea to grow interest in the sport, even the smallest amount of interest.

 

As for the app, I hope it works well, I'm tired of getting paired with hotheads. Last week I got paired with a twosome of guys that literally screamed at the guys in front of us because they weren't playing fast enough... They had just finished 9 in 1:15... They waved us on on the previous hole but they decided they didn't want to play through. After the yelling I made up some excuse about why I had to leave, waited for them to move on, and then continued from 10.

Also, I kinda like the randomness about getting paired, sometimes you meet some really nice people.
