Mickelson to Pay SEC

Recommended Posts

God, do I miss George Carlin! The man was not only funny, but brilliant.

As for why Harry Reed isn't in jail, I've been asking the same thing for years! Why isn't anybody looking at this guy? But then he had the graciousness to retire, and now, as Carlin says, no one cares!

And Congress is exempt from insider trading! What a surprise! God only knows what they AREN'T exempt from!

NO Politics.

Donald Trump's White House said that Phil Mickelson was one of several who sponsored the move to commute Billy Walters' sentence.

Maybe coming back to bite at him a little. He was named, along with Harmon, Feherty, and peter jacobsen as those who vouched for Walters for his release on the former president’s last day. His lawyer denied everything.

I dunno. If you get off, but think your friend should have also gotten off, what's the risk in vouching for him?

From Phil's perspective, I mean?

The Feds have been protecting Mickelson all along. They didn't go after him for the Billy Walters insider trading deal, and they didn't go after him for the gambling debt payoff (~$3M). There is a rumor as to why, but I can't confirm it so won't repeat it here. Bottom line is Smiley McGambler can pretty much do what he wants and let others take the hit for him. 🙃

Then why mention it?

I have heard a lot of things about you. Some actually quite horrific. I can't confirm them, so I won't repeat them. Does that sound fair?

Lots of interesting stuff about what a relief defendant is.  From the description of what happened, and the info in this article, I'm in the 'he's lucky to not be in jail' camp.

    • I did that once to a Ti Bubble II driver. I assume it was a manufacturing defect.
    • So you weren’t able to listen to Death Metal for 40 hours?
    • Lie can be affected by set up, but it is really impact position that is key. The shaft is actually bending down slightly at impact. So the head is slightly flattened with respect to the shaft. If you set up too close or too far from the ball, it can vary the head position at impact. One trick I use at set up is to let my right arm hang free. If I can then move it to the club without moving it in or away from my body, then my set up is in the right spot.
    • I live in close proximity to Browns fans, so Manziel is still one of those names that stirs things up.  But absolutely. If golf can give him a direction in life, that's fantastic. Maybe he only ever competes for a club championship at the local golf club, but if it gives him a reason to get out of bed in the morning that might be more important.  I know some people with issues. One commonality is that they don't have that something to be passionate about.
    • I actually think he's an okay guy. He has his demons and his issues just like anyone else. I don't think he's inherently a "bad person" in any way. I wish him all the best in his pursuit. My guess is he'll never make a PGA tour event, but good for him to have a goal and a dream that's worth pursuing. There are a million worse things he could be trying to do.
