My fiancé and I are planning a golf trip this Fall.  I would like to cut down on the extra weight and baggage, if possible.  I realize courses have rules about each player having their own bag.  Has anyone had experience playing out of one bag, even if you are playing with your own clubs?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Rick

Most places you will play will want all the golfers to have their own bag. Likely you can rent the clubs at the course you are playing. I recommend calling ahead to the course and asking how much for a rental set.

Are you walking or riding?  I understand the requirement if you're walking, but it seems out of place for riding.

(a vast majority of my rounds are walking, so maybe there's some aspect of riding I don't understand).

I've played out of one bag, back when I first started golfing. Even at that inexperienced level, I found it a little annoying, especially on the green.

I think it's always worth paying the rental fee, even though it often seems exorbitant.

Good Advice, thanks.

I may have been misleading with my question.  We always ride.  I wanted to carry both sets of clubs in one bag to limit space.

We always ride and it doesn't make sense to me that each of us would be playing with our own clubs, but out of one bag.  I can't see this working if we would walk.

The first round I ever played was sharing my friend's clubs on a little par-3 course here in town. Even there we were supposed to have two bags, but the starter let us go. I guess my buddy had played enough there to get the favor. I got my own bag immediately thereafter.

Ah, gotcha. As long as they all fit, I would be surprised if the course had a problem with it. And I think it'd be pretty easy to do.

A Sunday Bag may be the ticket and some of them are collapsible.

I have one and primarily use it to go to the practice range to significantly lighten up what I carry (I take about 5 or 6 clubs to the range/practice area, Dr, 5 wood, 7 iron, SW, LW, Putter).

Just show up and don't say anything. Let them figure it out, or in all likelihood, they'll never notice.

That may be the ticket, I like that option.  Thanks for the tip!
