Read an article where Tom Watson says that your right hand is really along for the ride in the swing. Tried it tonight and I was hitting a better drive but has anyone else tried it where you feel that you're only using your left arm and not using the right although you're gripping with both hands?

I'll take my thumb ang pointer finger off the club instead of the whole hand.

It helped not closing the club face too fast.   I still revert to this if I end up with a case of duck hooks.

This first time I successfully hit my irons with the left arm only, the ball went so far, and so effortless, that's when I first truly understood how much I had been releasing prior to impact (flipping). It was a major paradigm shift for me in terms of understanding. But knowing this in my head and doing it are two different things; I still struggle with some mental blocks. I was hoping to work those out at the range before spring but unfortunately we are having an awful winter here.

I'm going to try this at the range, thank you.
