That is a great idea... @iacas, is it legal? I mean it is an alignment aide used  during play...if so, I'm all for it

I place the marker and look at the line while waiting my turn to putt.  I use the line to align the ball - then pick up the marker before putting.

In der bag:
Cleveland Hi-Bore driver, Maltby 5 wood, Maltby hybrid, Maltby irons and wedges (23 to 50) Vokey 59/07, Cleveland Niblick (LH-42), and a Maltby mallet putter.                                                                                                                                                 "When the going gets tough...it's tough to get going."

I have heard quite a bit about golfers using foot powder on their clubs to see where on the face they hit the ball.

For Christmas (not really), I bought some Dr Scholls foot powder and used it today at the indoor range.   It is amazing how well it works.   I just used it on my 7 iron but I was impressed with the information I obtained. I also impressed myself how consistent my shot pattern appeared on the club.

If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it.

Been doing that for a while since first reading about in LSW. I've now seen the idea in quite a few other spots.

Gotcha - I guess that makes sense. I hadn't really thought it through...of course you wouldn't leave your ball marker down when putting. I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer!

Great idea, thanks for the suggestion! Those impact tapes are just too pricey.

A cheaper solution, if you find foot powder to be more expensive than you'd like, is to buy regular chalk and mark up the face of your clubs with it. I personally prefer the better portability of sticks of chalk and I feel like they last longer. You can get 24 pieces of good chalk for less than $5 with two day shipping on Amazon, or 144 sticks for less than $15 from the same sale.

You don't need the seller to be helpful. Paypal is notorious for always siding with the buyer, even if the seller has a tracking number that shows the item was delivered to the proper address. Paypal gives you your money back if you raise a dispute for it, then charges the seller's account for the refund.

I don't know about that. We've successfully fought a few disputes. Haven't lost one yet, knock on wood.

It's fine. You're allowed to do whatever to your golf ball in terms of marking it.

I am buying something I have seen on the interweb, but can't remember what it is called. It has a handle at the top, a pole going down the middle, and head at the bottom. Apparently you whack the ball with it. I have been told they come in different sizes.

In my bag (Motocaddy Light)

Taylormade Burner driver, Taylormade 4 wood, 3 x Ping Karsten Hybrids, 6-SW Ping Karsten irons with reg flex graphite shafts. Odyssey putter, 20 Bridgestone e6 balls, 2 water balls for the 5th hole, loads of tees, 2 golf gloves, a couple of hand warmers, cleaning towel, 5 ball markers, 2 pitch mark repairers, some aspirin, 3 hats, set of waterproofs, an umbrella, a pair of gaiters, 2 pairs of glasses. Christ, it's amazing I can pick the bloody thing up !!
