My goals:
Make Varsity golf team (unlikely, it is sort of one of Jack Nicklaus's pet projects so the kids are amazing)

Make JV golf team (if I can't make varsity)

Play bogey golf over 9 holes (45 or less, already have a 47 and 46)

Shoot under 100 consistently

Shoot under 90

Improve short game (this is what I'll need to do to do most of my goals)

Hmm, some really good goals here.

Mine a bit more simple, but so is my background. I'll be entering my 3rd year golfing in an unfortunately frozen part of Canada in about... April.

For then I'd like to:

Get in shape - Get back to my weight lifting routine and continue running 4 times a week.
Set a reasonable scoring goal I've been through a crazy amount of lessons. I broke 90 at the end of the season with two 88's. I know it seems laughable, but that had me at a season low of 16 over par. I'd like to get to low 80's by end of season (80'ish).

Increase club head speed (please no more emails selling product) I've been in a lot of winter lessons re-working my path. Last year I had a very short driver distance (about 240ish).

I look forward to checking this out in about 6 months and seeing if I felll on my face or managed to take on the challenge.

My goals for 08

1) Play consistant golf
2) Improve my short game so that I can get up and down 70% of the time.
3) Get into better physical shape for golf.
4) Shoot under par golf before the end of the year.
5) Practice my short game, pitching, chipping and putting at least once a week.
6) Hit fairways & greens.
7) Concentrate throughout 18 holes of play.

My ONLY goal is to get out there and play whenever the opportunity arises. In '07, I would sometimes deny myself a round of golf because I didn't have a buddy to tag-along. Well not this year... I'll go by myself if I have to.

I started playing golf in may 2007, so there's so much to learn for me.
My goals for this year are:
- in the first place: always enjoy golf ... even when I'm having a bad day I'm going to try to be positive and learn from it
- practice more
- take lots of lessons
- get my handicap below 36
- play on a big course (18 holes) for the first time
- play some tournaments for beginners in the club
- I'm going to Scotland this year and I hope I have time to visit St.Andrews and have a look around.
- and most important: stay healthy !

    • PXG ones are free when booked through us at our facility. I don't know what the situation is like in your area, though.
    • Are free fittings a common thing? I was kind of under the assumption that there was usually a cost associated with them, unless you actually purchased their clubs or something.  What's the best way to find free ones?
    • I'd find a free fitting, take your clubs, and see what you can see. For example, we have a PXG fitter come to our academy every Tuesday, and he's great about sharing info about why he's having you hit a certain shaft or clubhead or something. And… if you don't see much of a change, skip it.
    • Day 1 (3 Apr 25) - Restarting the routine after a 4 day quick trip.  Got back in the groove today for some swings of the 6i and driver into the net -‘to just warm the muscles a little.  Wrapped up the day with grandson hitting 20-25 yd pitches in the backyard.  Love watching his swing and also his concept of course management, to hear him say he left himself in a good position to finish (good words from a soon to be 9 yr old)….
    • Day 185 - 2025-04-03 Had a good 2.5 hour session at Golf Evolution. Kinda glad it was still wet and windy out today as I wouldn't have gotten such a good session in if I played. Got up to 93 MPH (with a pause) on my 6I and 130 MPH ball speed (on a different slightly slower hit, a bit more de-lofted than I'll want eventually).
