I'm watching tonight's NBA games and i'm wondering who you guys got as MVP this year. I personally got Russell Westbrook but i'm biased lol.

This is my opinion. If you go by the definition of Most Valuable Player to their individual team, it's Russell Westbrook by a country mile... But he probably will finish 2nd, because the voters look at the standings while voting, which is garbage...

I'll give you a historical example. In 1987, Magic Johnson won MVP. Should he have? It's debatable. If you remember the 80s Laker teams they had 3 HOF players just in their starting 5. L.A. finished 65-17 in 1986-87. Do you know who finished 2nd in 1986-87? It wasn't Bird, he was actually 3rd and I'll get into that in a minute.

Michael Jordan finished second in MVP voting in 1986-87, the Bulls went 40-42. He had Charles Oakley and a bunch of nobody's on that team. (Pippen and Grant were drafted after this season). The year before the Bulls were 30-52 and snuck into the playoffs with Jordan missing 64 games after breaking his foot in the third game of the season.

Michael would win MVP in 1988 I think as a "Man we messed up last year" by the writers.

Most people don't know the MVP isn't who we think it is (Though we have a tiny say in the process), it's up to the sports writers who are biased.

In my opinion at the end of the day it will probably be James Harden who wins it, or maybe LeBron (heaven forbid), my dark horse to finish top three is Isaiah Thomas of Boston.

  • iacas changed the title to Who's going to win the NBA MVP this year?

Harden either solo or co-MVP with Westbrook. LeBron better not win as he will win multiple Emmy awards for all his acting on the court.

I'm starting to think that Isaiah Thomas might deserve it if Boston steals the no.1 seed.

I like Isiah Thomas but Russ is doing something that hasn't happened since the 60s. I do think he should be All-NBA first team though.

I agree with you it sucks though. If that guy would've stayed one more year, he might have had a better chance at winning it.

Me personally I would like to see Leonard to win it. That said, from what I have heard, and read, it looks like the media has already chosen a Harden/Westbrook co-mvp for this season.

Westbrook is a stat chaser his rebounding numbers are skewed because he will not keep defending his man once the shot is made, Kawhi Leonard  is much more deserving than Harden also he's the best 2 way player in the league and his team wins a lot because of him, if the warriors weren't so insanely loaded the Spurs should be shoe ins for an NBA title.

    • Was Talking with a buddy last night and got to thinking how many different courses we have played and was a little underwhelmed at my count. I assumed I was around 100 give or take. After about an hour of racking my brain I realized Im right at or just above 60. There could be a few that I cant recall or don't have record of but overall felt like that was a decent number. 55 in Florida, 2 in Arizona, 1 in New Hampshire, 1 in Michigan, and 1 in Indiana.  Now a new goal of getting to that 100 courses. Plan is to get to 75 by end of year and have dates of courses already set to get me to 70 so 75 shouldn't be out of question.  Below is the list of courses:  State Courses AZ Phoenician AZ The Legacy FL Abbey Course at St. Leo FL Babe Zaharias FL Bardmoor FL Bent Tree FL Big Cypress Exec FL Big Cypress South FL Bloomingdale FL Bobcat Trail FL Champions Gate FL Chi Chi Rodriguez FL Clearwater Country Club FL Club Renaissance  FL Copperhead FL Countryway FL Cove Cay FL Cypress Creek FL Diamond Hill FL Falcons Fire FL Fox Hollow FL Freedom Fairways FL Greenfield Plantation FL Hawks Landing FL Heritage Harbour Bradenton FL Heritage Harbour Land o Lakes FL Heritage Isles FL Highlands Reserve FL lake Jovita North FL Lake Jovita South FL Lexington Oaks FL Links at Greenfield Plantation FL Links of Lake Bernadette FL Links of Sandpiper Lakeland FL Northdale FL Plantation Palms FL River Hills FL Rocky Point FL Rogers FL Saddlebrook- Plamer FL Saddlebrook- Saddlebrook FL Sandpiper Lakeland FL Sandpiper Suncity FL Scepter Golf Club Falcon FL Shalamar FL Seminole Lake Country Club FL Silver Dollar FL Silverado FL Streamsong Red FL Sugarmill Woods Cypress FL Sugarmill Woods Pine FL Summerfield FL Temple Terrace FL Waterlefe FL Wentworth FL Westchase FL World Woods Pine Barrons IN Rock Hollow MI Ravines NH Brookside
