I continue to work on my swing. The last lesson I took was with emphasis on releasing the club letting go of my arms allowing my hands to cross over using the weight of the club as I go thru impact. That thought has helped a lot with distance and the swing feels a lot more loose and free. I am a master at it without a ball to hit.

At the range however, I noticed my forearms and arms are still not quite fully straight causing a separation thru and after impact. a little chicken wing but not too bad. . I can not seem to find any drills to work on it.

I need to work on looking like the guy on the top pic and I look like more like Lee Westwood..without his greatness..

a little help would be appreciated.

My instructor has suggested a towel or a small object between the lead arm and the rib cage.  If you produce a chicken wing, the object will fall.   I'm sure somebody with more experience and knowledge will chime in soon.

Good luck.

"Smart Ball", Nerf Foot Ball, Tennis/soccer ball on a string, "P-Ball".  Idea being to place something between your forearms that will fall if you have too much arm separation. Then there is the "Golf Swing Shirt" (I can not see myself using this however, but some swear by it). This is more or less what proponents of torso rotational swings promote.

Often the problem is not what you think it is.  Perhaps the problem is you are not keeping your head steady.  Do you have a myswing thread?

There is a tree behind Lee's head, use that as a reference to see how much his head drops by impact.  Keep your head steady and you'll have to reach for the ball with extended arms at impact.

You could be doing lots of things and the arms might be a result, not a cause.

Gonna have to post video if you want more than guesses.

In the mean time, here's my guess: speed up your pivot.

Seriously without video there's nothing here.  If you want help read up on the member swings deal and how to post.

This probably solves most of the typical amateurs swing issues. . .

The trick is learning how to do it correctly so you can still hit a ball on the ground. :-D
