Great to see Stenson win.

Can we talk about Schniederjans' ball flight?  My goodness I've never seen someone hit it that low...

Fairways and Greens.

I didn't watch any… is there a tracer of it somewhere or something? Video?

Low ball flights generally don't succeed on the PGA Tour. Particularly in majors, anyway.

I think in this case he's hitting low on purpose? Didn't watch w/US Am and Solheim going on. According to PGA stats, only one person has an average height lower than his: http://www.pgatour.com/stats/stat.02407.html

Off-topic, but hey, social media can be occasionally, useful, just gotta know how to filter.

I read somewhere that he had tried hitting it higher and had a lot of issues so decided to go back to the low ball flight.

That's the exact shot I was looking for...I think it is his 1-iron.  He hit it 341. :bugout:

Agreed...this is just seemed extreme.  Something definitely worth noting.

72 feet? Wow, that's incredibly low for the PGA Tour. That's ~30 feet lower than the median PGA Tour, and almost half as high as the person who hits the ball the highest. Also, the person who's 4th to last hits it almost 10 feet higher. Really interesting. And while Schniederjans isn't an elite PGA player, he's safely keeping his tour card (39th in the FedEx Cup) and has 5 top 10s.

I love those low ball flights. There is a difference in being a low ball hitter and a guy who chooses to hit low snipes when he wants. Trevino won plenty of majors with a lower flight.

Not Augusta, and that was back in the day when the greens were not what they are these days.

The 1970s were a long time ago.
