Damage to Top of My Epic Driver

So I was in one of those dual level driving ranges, hitting from the bottom range.  You probably already know how this ends but I started working on my extension in the follow through and sure enough I nailed the heating vent at the top.  This is the damage now on the top of my club.  I can't really tell anything different when swinging it even though it is interesting that the Epiq with the already strange sound now makes a different sound on contact.  Is this something I should be concerned with?

I can't say if that will affect the club in the future but I dropped the head of my driver on the garage floor while cleaning it and sent it to Continental Golf in North Carolina.   For $60 they did an amazing job with a quick turn around.

The "different sound" would concern me.  That seems to indicate a structural issue to me.  It would certainly be worth a call to the manufacturer to ask someone who actually knows...

I tend to agree. Changes in sound, pitch, etc in wood, metal and pretty much any material generally means the integrity has been compromised.

One thing that struck me, what in the hell is a duct or anything doing so close to the area where people are swinging clubs? It just seems counter-intuitive when you build a driving range to have shit in the way, right?

I'm 6'4" and usually check since I have a wide arc, if I was a normal shrimp and hit the ceiling or anything I would be PISSED.

if its not hurting the distance you should be fine, I've bought a brand mew driver and dropped it on the ground and it worked fine. the sound you hear is prob from where air flows on the downswing and sounds weird cause the spot isn't smooth like it was before. thats one reason i don't like hitting in those small pods. rather be in a open space off some grass
