Nice thought but it isn't going to happen...(imo)

It's satire, like a Jon Stewart skit. Actually, some on Reddit thought it was real.

One hint it's a satire. If you've been following the news you know who Jared Kushner (who buys and sells buildings in NY) is. One of the builders in the video is named Jason Kirschner.

And there is a resemblance to that awful Bluejack promotional video.

They're collectively no different than before social media. The only difference is their "voices" are being "heard" around the world now.

Well, they are only heard if we listen

I'm listening less and less and less and less

Getting back on topic.

That's an actual putting green. The office drone in me does not approve, the golfer in me does. Bro floor. Unless that's a golf store I'm not aware of.

I'm sure there are many "putting greens" on Manhattan. Bet there are simulators in that location too.

I love the "fellow hedge fund managers" bit. :-D

Not in an actual working environment, like law, marketing, finance, insurance, etc...  And I'm pretty sure that's not a golf store.

I'm guessing that's some media company's office space or something creative, it doesn't look like the office of a hedge fund.

And I know that building with the exoskeleton, just can't put my finger on it. New Yorkers, help me out, midtown west or maybe FiDi.

Wherever it is, I'm sure the workers are highly paid and have these "perks" to boot.

I have no idea about the culture in NYC, I was just born there. . .grew up in the South and West.

Serious question but seeing how a lot of New Yorkers dont have cars, where do they go for golf? Are any courses available off of rail lines?

Uber, borrow a car, train. There are actually a decent amount of decent golf courses in NYC, just none in Manhattan. There are a few in the Bronx, plenty in Queens, and I know of one in Brooklyn, and more than a few in Staten Island.

As far as the offices I've been in offices where they have climbing walls, Ping Pong tables, Putting greens, Simulators, Arcade games etc.. In Architects offices, Engineers offices, Clothing Company offices, Ad Agencys, PR Firms etc..

Yeah, I get that creatives and some tech sectors will have some kind of fun/game space, but not your finance, investment bank, insurance, law offices. Definitely not a hedge fund HQ - they just helicopter out to Winged Foot. 20 minutes door to door. :-P

You're kidding right? There are definitely finance, and law offices offices with putting greens. It's not that big of a deal. Insurance? I don't know anything about Insurance.

    • I kind of like this interpretation especially if you think about it the unplayable rule would probably put you in a better spot.  using back on the line releief.
    • I did not realize that, I was thinking a more traditional golf club.
    • Thanks for the feedback. @StuM, we are a "club without real estate" so no facilities or pro. We have a membership of around 185 players and we only play together as a group at our tournaments, which are held at public access courses. A group of us setup the tournaments, collect the money and dole out the prizes.
    • In general, granting free relief anywhere on the course isn't recommended.  Similarly, when marking GUR, the VSGA and MAPGA generally don't mark areas that are well away from the intended playing lines, no matter how poor the conditions.  If you hit it far enough offline, you don't necessarily deserve free relief.  And you don't have to damage clubs, take unplayable relief, take the stroke, and drop the ball in a better spot.
    • If it's not broken don't fix it. If you want to add grooves to it just because of looks that's your choice of course. Grooves are cut into putter faces to reduce skid, the roll faced putter is designed to do the same thing. I'm no expert but it seems counter productive to add grooves to the roll face. Maybe you can have it sand-blasted or something to clean up the face. Take a look at Tigers putter, its beat to hell but he still uses it.
