There are lots of professional athletes who look way worse than Aphibarnrat.

The thing is, they're way better athletes than you. They're faster, stronger, and more agile. They're called linemen and they play football.

Don't judge a book by its cover.

You ever check the ratings and the popularity of golf lately?

Yeah, and it has absolutely screw-all to do with Aphibarnrat-- who is one player, one totally unknown to most casual golf fans-- or his physical shape. You won't be able to find one shred of evidence that suggests otherwise.

Urkel - you'd better get use to seeing Kiradech. As he rose to #29 in the OWRG last week, leading him to withdraw from this weeks event to ensure his invitation to the Masters. I think it is a smart move, but it is kinda sad that he withdrew from an event in his home country to protect his spot.

OP didn't say you can't be good at golf with a gut. He hinted at it being a poor representation of the tour, himself, the sport or whatever, and that all the physical exercise one gets through golf should prevent you from becoming "large". If it doesn't, you are eating too much. The fact he was leading a tournament seems to be coincidental. Doesn't have much to do with golf really. Thread could've been called "Why are people fat?".

Not that this makes this thread any better, but I see a lot of replies pointing out that some larger individuals are good at golf.

    • Day 9, May 13.  After work, I went to my practice room for a dozen balls (two sessions of a half dozen each).  I may do more later, but I wanted to make sure I posted here too.  Same priority as yesterday, with the arms lifting.
    • Day 263 6-13 Setup alignment stick station for hands off body drill. Worked on wrist arch as well. Working on not hitting the stick 😀
    • Day 64 (13 May 26) - last practice of golf team for the school golf team….got to hit a few balls while working with the kids.
    • Hi @RetiredOldMan!  I am glad to see you are still playing and having good scores.  I hope that when I am 79, I am not only able to play, but still able to produce as good scores as you have been doing.   I look forward to hearing more of your success and your opinion of the senior flex shafts.
    • Hello Golfing Buddies, It has been awhile since I posted but I am the Retired Old Man that asked for advice because I suffered two "T.I.A.'s about switching from playing right handed to playing left handed.  I purchased a Callaway Edge Left handed golf clubs. I changed the grips to oversize grips.  Well, two weeks ago and still at 79 years old, I shot a 44 and 47 on a small course in my hometown.  I am currently changing my shafts from regular flex to Senior flex.  So, you can see' it can be done! So, you other old timers; get with the program! Blessings to all of you. Retired Old Man (Terry Warner)
