Day 67.  I found my practice room twice today, 5 minutes each;  the wall drill and the same swings off the mat I've been doing.

Day 16

Same focus and practice but I also worked in the day 12 covid trail arm club toss. I think this is one I will do for a few days. I really like the feel and think this complements my work of trying to stay on plane in the downswing.

Day 177 - I’ve been forgetting to post. Practiced into my net today focusing on focusing. I picked a spot on the ball and focused on that through impact. Did this with 6 iron and driver for about 30 minutes. I’ve been having trouble with that lately.

Day 1 - I played golf all weekend but didn't get my posts in, so I've easily missed 2+ in the last 28 days. Back to square 1 😞

Today I worked on my hip turn in the backswing, starting with mirror work and then hitting some balls. I have a tendency to sway a bit towards the target when trying to rotate my hips, so I'm trying to get that sorted out.

Day 23:  Indoor putting drills.  Outdoor hitting into a net.  Continue to focus on stance and posture with only swing thought being to keep a steady head.  Full swings with mostly driver, but also 3 wood and 3 hybrid off the tee as well as "rescue" type swings with 3 hybrid and 7 iron.  Stance, posture, and steady head only swing thought on all swings.

Day 68.  Speed Sticks, protocol one.  Did fine.  I'm not really gaining, but I'm not really losing ground either.

Post didn’t go through yesterday.

Yesterday - Superspeed workout, then a bunch of slow swings working on priority piece.

Today - more work on priority piece with half swings. Just being a good stupid monkey.

Day 17

Did 5 minutes filming FV of my practice. Same focus as prior days but I wanted to see how steady my head was as well as whether I was getting proper rotation, hands at impact etc.

Did 3 or 4 slow takeaways and return to shaft parallel and then proceeded to do a full swing. I have a slight head movement away from target but it seems not to be excessive. Everything else looked fairly clean to my untrained eye. Biggest issue is still a slight increase in shoulder tilt (more visible from DTL) at the start of the downswing. It's not there on my slow swings but always returns when I take a full swing.

Day 242 - August 26, 2020

Played a few holes with a playing lesson. Chipped in on one, which I haven't done much lately.

Day 69.  In between grading and hockey, I found time to do the wall drill and hit about three balls.  There was a five minute consecutive session in there (it's the one that included actually hitting a few balls), plus a few more times that were mostly the wall.  If I had known I was up against such a milestone, I might have scheduled a better practice for today.

Day 25:  Went to a practice facility in a nearby suburb with a dedicated short game practice area.  My biggest goal today was simply to check out the facility as it was my first time there.  I hit a variety of shots, but mostly worked off of instinct and feel.  Before next time, I'll study up more on actual technique and see if what I think I'm doing is real.

    • Wordle 1,652 X/6* 🟨⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜🟨⬜⬜ ⬜🟩⬜🟩🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 Yup - one of those Wordle moments….
    • The term I hear most often is "double teeing" which means the course/club has starting times from both the #1 and #10 tee.  I have encountered this many times and we know if we are the first group off #10, we may well get to #1 and have to wait because there are groups still with tee times yet to tee of #1.  In most instances, where the course/club has a starter, he normally explains this situation.  In this case, the pro advised what you would could/would encounter making the turn to #1.  And, that is exactly what happened.  Probably would have been wise to talk to the pro after playing back 9 and ask when you could go off #1 since apparently that club does not double tee.   Regardless, the outburst towards the other group was uncalled for.  And, I don't blame the member for being upset.  As a member of a private club, you are responsible for the actions of your guest.  I have played many times as a guest in the UK and I am pretty damn sure my host was responsible for my actions while at the club.  I know at the clubs I have belonged to here in the US, that is the way it is.  As a matter of fact, the member may find himself being brought before management and facing possible suspension.  So, I don't blame him for being upset.  However, as the host, he really should have stepped up and put a stop to the OP's actions.  OP makes this statement "I now understand that standards are different on the "private course." But I'll take those lessons to the muni, too."  No, the standards are not different.  You, sir, seem to be just a bit hard headed and belligerent, even if you are college professor...which possibly explains a lot.   JMHO
    • Day 32: worked for about 10 minutes on my drill. Filmed it as well for a check in. I think it’s slightly better but still seeing some issues.
    • Day 44 (26 Dec 25)  -  played in the Friday men’s shootout with a twist - used the Toney Penna persimmons and MacGregor blades - had a blast playing these clubs.  They really help in zoning in on making solid ball contact.  Scoring was solid - had several looks at birdie and had a few par saves.  Overall a day of focused course management.
    • Day 2: 2025.12.27 Eighteen holes at Kauri Cliffs. Focusing on trying to keep flex in right leg during backswing.
