day 24: spent an hour and a half on the range going through all clubs.. they also opened the grass-chipping area again (it's usually used as a putting green in the winter), which is great, as I don't like chipping off the mats

cheers Chris

Day 23: Had a lesson today.  Focussed almost entirely on ensuring the hips finish ahead of the shoulder centre.  Lots of slow swings, and noticing the feel and assessing the finish position.  My one focus for the next two weeks is this - hips ahead of shoulder.  Whatever promotes both this behaviour, and being able to notice it.

Day 90: 3/28/2022

Took the Red-Eye back home this morning, so not in any shape to do much practicing.
So, I got out the old putt-out and worked on 3 foot putts. Can't believe how many I missed this weekend.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 148, March 28, 2022

Did work yesterday but was too tired/too late to post. Spent the evening reading a book.

Today I hit a bunch of 8-irons after lessons. The Internet is still down. More full swings at nearly full speed. I'm not quite there yet, but I can feel that it's close.

Good.

Day 24: Putting distance drills (with conventional grip) - went very well.  10 shots from 8, 10, 12 feet - 9/10 at each level either went in the hole or finished within a 3 foot distance beyond the hole.  Similar drill from 5,6,7,8,9,10,11 feet - ladder style.  Completed it without an error.  Then did chipping ladder drill - made the target area a bit bigger, and upgraded challenge to land 2 balls in a row from each station before progressing.  Finished with a few small swings with 8I, focusssing on finishing position at P8.

day 25: The real-grass area of the range has been reopened (was closed during the winter) so I spent an hour there with my irons. ..even within those 2 days that it's been open, it's been quite messed up already again by too many people that don't follow the correct divot pattern.. so sad to see divots all over the place instead of in straight lines..

cheers Chris

Day 155 - Another cold and windy day today, so more putting practice. Today I practiced path by swinging the putter between 2x4s w/o touching the sides then stroked putts swinging the putter between a gate (like Tiger's tee drill) putting the ball between a gate 3' in front.

    • Day 56 - 2024-11-15 Light day. Lots of catch-up work. Checked the grip to make sure I wasn't compensating there, and did a little backswing work.
    • Day 197 (15 Nov 24) - Played in the Friday men’s group outing - blustery conditions in play (wind gusting 10-20; spotty pop up misting rain; temps in the mid 50’s), so it was a good day to work on course management.  Solid round of 83 (41/42) - 7 GIR, total 32 putts - included 10 pars (3 being up and downs), a dbl and triple bogie.
    • Have been on a mid to low 80’s roll of late - today was no different with an 83 (41 front / 42 back).   Played in the Friday men’s group outing - blustery conditions in play (wind gusting 10-20; spotty pop up misting rain; temps in the mid 50’s), so it was a good day to work on course management, delivering 7 GIR, total 32 putts - included 10 pars (3 being up and downs), a dbl and triple bogie.  Local course starting to get that winter feel - wet areas wetter, thin grass thinner, greens  trickier.
