Day 110.  Today was another one of those days where, periodically during the work day, I wandered to my practice room to hit indoor 6-iron (off a mat, into a net, real balls)

Missed yesterday, but that was because I was on the course golfing.  Today I worked on bunker shots.

Day 285 - October 8, 2020

Played nine holes with Nat. Hit the ball okay. Starting to feel like it's getting back to where it should be.

Day 300

A bit of indoor putting. A few more days of vacation left, and then back home where I can do full swing practice again.

Day 111.  After dinner tonight, I went to a nearby practice facility.  I did 15 minutes of chipping (real balls to a real enough green) and 15 minutes of putting.  The area was sufficiently crowded that I couldn't really do any drills, but I worked on technique and distance control.

Day 301

Played 18. Shot a pretty stress free 88. Could have been better with sharper short game, duffed a few pitch/chips that were costly. Wasn’t comfortable at all with driver, and lost some strokes off the tee. Emailed instructor and asked for next week’s lesson to be 50% driver work.

Day #7....Reset.

I just read through the Stupid Monkey thread and came to the conclusion my "5 Minute Daily Practice" is all over the board and not focused.  I'm going to look back at my last lesson comments and pick something to work on and get more focused on that.  Thus today I reset back to Day #0 with intent to do better practice.

Day 24 - played 9 holes. Drove the ball well, but GIR sucked (3/9). 15 putts. I realized (too late) that my tempo was quick and I was pushing/fading the ball right.

Day 60

played 18 today. Struck the ball better than I have in ages. Score still wasn’t there but a 95 on a course where I last shot a 104 is something I can live with. A few unforced errors and some bad putting or I would have broken 90.

Day 112.  Another day where I periodically during the work day go to my indoor practice room (next room over from home office) to hit a few balls (indoors, off a mat, into a net, real balls when hitting one).  Today I re-emphasized the slow rehearsal swings.

      Approach Play to Elevated / Lowered Greens?

      Where do you tend to miss it? When the green is below you, the ball is spending more time in the air, so to the extent that side spin is making it move one way or the other, it has more time to do that and therefore will be affected more. That's why it's so dang hard to hit a fairway that's a long way below you. When the ground gets in the way it stops the slice/hook spin from moving the ball away from the middle. If you play, let's say, a fade, then you want to aim further to the left to allow the fade to move the ball further. That also means if you play for a fade and don't hit a fade you're going to miss by more than you would if the green was at the same level.  I think the person who brought this up is trying to limit the impact of that by hitting it lower so the ball doesn't spend as much time in the air. If that's not how you normally hit it and you haven't practiced it, then it's likely going to be more detrimental than just figuring out how to deal with your normal shot.
