Day 9 (3/25/21): Before going to the course, I worked with the PuttOut Pressure putt training aid at the house for about 10 minutes. I played 18 this morning. Shot 87 with 37 putts, 33% GIR and 87% fairways hit. I decided to make several putting changes on the course today, not smart!

Fairways and Greens,

Day 74 - Blast putting in office b/w patients. Gonna hit a few 6i's later this evening. My next real round (not counting a scramble) is with a buddy in early May wherein I'll hit it 6 times (which is a lot of 6 irons in one round for me).

Day 32.  In addition to a dozen shots as combination warm-up and practice (6-iron, off a mat, indoors, same as almost always), I did speed sticks protocol one (I meant to yesterday, did not -- see yesterday's to see that I did get practice in, just not that).  113 green stick at the end, highest since starting back up (I had plateaued at near 112).  112-107-101-113.

Day 465:

Lesson today. New priority piece for backswing, first lesson in awhile where the priority piece is more of an adjustment rather than a major correction.

Day 165: worked on an added piece to my drill, letting the right foot and knee slide toward the target instead of the ball on the downswing. I worked on this before, but it came back as we worked on the rotation. Did this with irons and driver.

Day 79 (26 Mar 21) - Wedge work in the backyard this morning before heading to the course.   Used the 58 and bounce drill from the COVID practice plan.  Using half swings, getting consistent distance and accuracy.....fast forward to the round played today and the drill paid off as I was landing the ball within a couple of yards where I was wanting it to land.   Yep - making the concerted effort to do "something" each day with a set goal pays off.

Day 12.

Another inside day (unfortunately).

Spent 5-10min on putting drills - rotating 3', 4.5', and 6' straight puts.

Also working on drills like this as I fight inconsistency with my irons.  I like how Mike Malaska explains things, so I'm going through a number of his lessons.

    • Day 59: just a short bit of mirror work and foam balls. Working on the leg stuff throughout the swing.
    • Day 601 - 2026-05-25 Short-ish day with only some later Skillest lessons, so I stayed after and got some swings in. GEARS Hybrid was set up for a lefty, so… not that. 🙂
    • Day 21, May 25.  Hit "the whole bucket" as practice today after reviewing my Skillest lesson.  I think something crept into my swing last week that wasn't in the lesson, so I went back to the lesson and renewed my focus.  Each ball was a minute or so, 2-3 slow rehearsal backswings and checking the mirror for how far back I was going. "The whole bucket" means every ball I have in the bin at my indoor practice room;  I counted when I put them back, that's six dozen plus six total.  That is probably more full swings than I took over the weekend (excluding range warm-ups) in two rounds!  But these were all with a 6-iron.
    • Day 265 5-25 Hit some balls just to see where i was, no "thoughts' except getting arms in front. Did some recording where i focused on getting chest through and arms in front.
    • Day 76 (25 May 26) - Broke out the "vintage" clubs (MacGregor blades, Wilson 4150 laminates) to work with clubs that are much less forgiving.  Worked through the bag using hard foam balls for the full swings, regular balls for the chips and pitches.  Found it to be a more focused session on making consistent contact.
