Day 27, 1/18/2022

Just mirror work this morning.

I may get some putting and/or chipping in later tonight, but I still have another meeting to go to (on line meeting) and then gotta get ready to head out early tomorrow. So, I'm happy I was able to get the mirror work in.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 41 (18 Jan 22) - Worked on the swing setup today while pitching in the backyard with the 54.   Dialing in on the target was key, especially as I was doing this in the late afternoon sun - talk about blinded by the light.  Had to trust the setup and related swing to deliver.   Was also getting good spin that produced good checking of the ball.  Hope to take it to the course tomorrow.

Day 42 (19 Jan 22)  - played 18 today, saw in the front nine where the work from the past week or so on the setup paid off. Shot a 1 over 37.  Got disjointed on the back and fell off the wagon with 12 over. Will continue the setup drills tomorrow.

Ten minutes (max) at the end of a "felt longer than it was" sort of day. At least it's in the upper 50s inside now!

Day 28. In all day meetings today plus dealing with family stuff.
I did get my mirror work in.

Basically I did a couple of minutes without a club.

Then a couple of minutes using a short piece of PVC pipe. Helps with the stretch and the turn.

Then with the club across my shoulders

Finally with the club gripped normally.

Next week I'll be hitting balls again, I expect to get some video. I'm hoping to see a big change.

Day 15: Mirror work again. Checking set up, and doing a little bit of work on the backswing. Working on some feels to try to keep the knee a little more inward during the backswing. Still checking set up though, which still needs some more focus on bending my knees.

Day 43 (20 Jan 22) - more work on the setup with the 6i in the backyard.  Focused on what happens at and after impact by working keeping the turn happening.  Finished up by making mindful swings with the iron and the hard foam balls off the tee - again working to bring the upper torso/shoulders on around.

Day 29, 1/20/2022

Another busy day with family obligations and all day meetings. But on lunch I did my mirror work.

Once again, I started out with no club.

Then I did a split grip on the piece of 1/2" PVC pipe.

Then I did a club across my collarbone.

I finished up with using the club with my standard grip.

I was also able to get some nice putting "Bead" work in. Basically I did Day 15 of the Covid-19 practice plan. That went very well. I hit very few gates.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 81, January 20, 2022

Long day even though it didn't start until 12. 🙂 Second student really couldn't work well, wasn't paying attention, or really being conscious.

So, ten minutes after that, all of which were probably a bit too fast, but which I hit pretty well.

Day 5:

Holy shit!

5pm and there is still daylight, no more lingering Covid fatigue, felt great to go outside and hit some balls finally.

Hit 20 balls total. First 10, worked on backswing, multiple rehearsals, and then a slow swing through the ball, just sort of punching it into the net. Next 10 worked on transition move, with multiple rehearsals from top of backswing, and then a less "punchy" downswing, trying to go at about 75% full speed (probably closer to 95% just due to the exhilaration of finally practicing again).
