Day 40: 2/1/2022

I did putting, chipping and mirror work so far.

I'm heading out to the garage to hit some balls now. I probably won't have time to film. I gotta get back in time for my next meeting.

I'm just going to hit a few with the GW, 8-iron, 6-iron, a hybrid and I'll see what the driver feels like.

Day 55 (01 Feb 22) - Played solo round this morning.  As I was out way ahead of the regulars, I was able to relax and focus on keeping mechanics consistent.

Day 28: Back to mirror work. Still working on set up. Still need to bend my knees more to be better. Hip position looks pretty good. Would like for the snow to melt so I can see what an actual swing looks like at the range…

Day 464: Went to a heated outdoor range today. The sky was milky and ground snow covered so needless to say it was hard finding the ball in the air! Worked on my setup and mapping first for few minutes after I warmed up. Then worked through the bag with the same setup process aiming at different targets. Also did some pitching and distance wedge shots. Other than not being able to find the ball in the air, it was good to get out and hit outdoors.

Day 56 (02 Feb 22) - Ground Hog day, so  I continued the anti-chicken wing drill but upped the length of the swing to no more than 1/2 swing.  Still getting used to the preload/hip bump as it puts the weight on the leadership foot.  Yet as I work “up” to a full swing, it is allowing this 2/3 foot “learn” to trust (meaning me) that it can be fairly stable in the swing.

Bring a black dry erase marker with you and color half the ball black before you hit it.... I've done that before.... The dry erase marker comes off the ball easily as it rolls through the snow, or even the grass.

Day 41: 02/02/2022

A lot of practice today.

I did my mirror work and then hit balls in the garage for an hour or so. I used Skytrak's driving range and then I did a skills challenge on the SkyTrak and I was really happy because I got my best score on the skills challenge to date. It put my just over a 10 hcp. So, that was promising.

I stewed on my garage practice session for a while and decided I needed conformation. So, I threw the bag in the trunk and went to the actual driving range. That went well. My shots looked pretty similar to the SkyTrak. (The SkyTrak isn't mine so I didn't bring it with me to the range.) Today my misses were "toey" hooks. Both at the range and with the Skytrak.

Right now, I'm sticking a couple of pizzas in the oven for dinner (I know, high class, right?) I've set up the ladder drill and I will run up and down it with the 60 and the 54 while the pizza bakes.

Day 94, February 2, 2022

Groundhog day, so I did a little work that started out not so great. I spent so much time on my video this morning that I didn't have time to get my GEARS stuff loaded up, but I'll be home tomorrow and will do it then.

Anyway, made some good swings when I focused on the downswing feeling toward the end.

    • I haven't heard much of anything about it. Faux leather, sure. Biodegradable leather? No. No idea. You're a bit too new, still, to post links.
    • Okay, I'm genuinely curious about this "biodegradable leather" trend in golf. Are we talking snake oil here? I mean, golf balls, clubs... they all end up in the water eventually. Is this just greenwashing, or is there actually a real environmental benefit? And honestly, does it even perform as well as traditional leather? I don't want to sacrifice distance for the planet, you know? Anyone with real-world experience with these eco-friendly golf goods? Spill the tea!
