Day 7: 6/26/2023

Me and the family went mini-golfing. We all brought our putters and tried to make putts. 

On a personal note, I got two holes in one. 🤪

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs. 

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 16: 6/26/23

Stack Neural training with max intent. Hit 112 e- speed, which is just below Saturday’s high. Trying to make swing changes and swinging with max intent is a challenge for me.

Day 62 - The Stack training, hit multiple PRs despite being quite tired and sluggish. Funny how that works.

Day 6 (26 Jun 23) - Long day of meetings, got in the backyard and worked on reverse stork drill (weight on lead foot -reinforcing stability).  Hit a few balls (easy pitches) with the 9i for this drill.

Day 7 (27 Jun 23) - monthly 9hole super ball with men’s group from church.  Had many opportunities for short game/around the green work.  Used shots I’ve been drilling on to rattle the pin a couple of times, or finish for a tap in par.

Played 18 holes today. Birdied 9 and 18 but already had those on my away courses composite birdie chart.

Because the air quality is trash right now. It smells like a campfire outside my house with how smokey it is. I did some inside work working on body turning and backswing length.

Day 26 - More putting slightly longer today 5-7ft. Really struggling with time this week to stretch out and work on backswing. Goal is to find a window tomorrow evening.

Day 64 - Range session focusing on driver start line and re-mapping my carry yardages throughout the bag.

Pretty good session overall, driver is really really good, probably the best it's ever been. Distance and direction are both great. Averaged 285yd carry tonight with range balls and peaked out at 303yds carry.

      Day 27 (7 Dec 25) - Got in a few swings with 9i and hard foam balls in backyard.  Setup weight fwd (rebuilt left foot really lets me feel the weight in a slightly painful way) - kept the backswing to around 9 o’clock focusing on contact and resulting divot pattern.  Like how the hard foam balls come off the face (almost like real balls in sound).  A good abbreviated session as I only able to hit about a dozen balls in the fading light.

      Not the part I was replying to: Handicaps did not go down much (like 0.14 on average IIRC?) when we went from 10/20*0.96 to 8/20. And a good chunk of that was from the +s.

      I think he meant in the UK. The old system was completely different from the new one. 10/20 x 0.96 vs 8/20 would really only impact very low handicaps I think. The 0.96 serves to increase differentials for plus differentials, where 8/20 vs 10/20 works to lower differentials for all. I don't know many plus golfers who would be upset that their index got lower. A lot of really good players don't even really keep their handicaps up-to-date. They're much more interested in their WAGR rankings which get them entries to certain events.

      Day 433 - 2025-12-07 Got some work in after Junior Elite before a night of sports (and the return of my wife!). Backswing work. Similar to what a lot of my juniors are doing.
