I have a bunch of rubber tees properly lengthed for me, but don't know why, just wind up doing this, that's a bit of kitchen paper towel in the rubber tee. I like the adjustability. Yeah, could buy that adjustable rubber tee thingy, but I just like hacks.

Is it just me, or does anyone else dislike the thick rubber tees?

Even if the height of the tee is okay, I don't like the feel/sound of hitting through it.  Feels different than hitting through a real tee in turf.

Yeah, I don't like the sound either. Also get annoyed when the guy in the next stall is doing the let's hit the rubber tee for practice 10 times in a row.

That's a good idea - wad some crap in the hole and then use a real tee.  THANKS

Though I'll have to buy some short tees just for mats.  however currently, I just break tees and push them in the mats anyway.

Does the real tee stay in or does it fly out after you hit? I could see that becoming frustrating trying to replace the tee back in the precise spot and get it to stay every time.

I started bringing my own rubber tees to ranges that have them.  My preference is a grass hitting areas where I can use my normal wooden tees.  Clever idea in a pinch but I believe I would tire of replacing the tee after I snap it or it winds up in the range area where others are hitting.

I guess that can work, but it seems like a pain to wad up tissue after each shot, I'll just use a short rubber tee holder, and a real tee for the height I want, they're only $5.

Yeah, it pops out, both the tee and whatever you stuff into the rubber tee. I like the extra delay between shots, slows myself down, ymmv. I've experienced the exact opposite, the automatic tees at Chelsea Piers or similar. There's something theraputic about reteeing yourself.

A folded up big box store receipt (they're usually longer) - tighter fit, doesn't pop out as much but more broken tees.

@nevets88 you know they make mat tees you can stick a real tee into, right? They had them at the Rutgers Golf Course range.

Something like this:
