That was so dark!

I rewatched the movie and am less critical than I was. It’s just such a monumental task to take on this last chapter.

The Last Jedi is the reason for the unevenness of the new trilogy. Too much put into ep9 to make sense of the odd direction of ep8. 
 

that and of course Carrie Fisher passing. Hard way to tell the Skywalker saga when they Killed off Luke and an actual death of the actress.

I disagree. A lot of it falls on Abrams when he made episode 7. How Abrams just decided to copy every plot point from the previous trilogy. It was honestly lazy. 

I will still claim that Episode 8 is not a horrible movie. It's pacing was bad, and they could have cut out 30 minutes and the movie would be much better, but it added depth to the two most important characters, Kylo and Rey. Which was lacking greatly from Episode 7 because Abrams was too concerned with making a fan service movie instead of fleshing out the characters.

Episode 8 isn't that hard to understand. It never got that that complicated. The only major thing that changes was Snoke getting killed off. Which I was 100% happy about. I liked that they focused on the characters. Really, it wasn't hard to realize not everything being told to the characters might be correct. Like, why should I ever trust Kylo when all he wanted in Episode 8 was for Rey to turn to the dark side. I think 8 gets a bad rap because people just want to be forced fed a fan service plot.

Ep 8 fails for me due to it not knowing where to go with the characters and no payoff. What the hell was the casino scene about and how did it move the story? The throwing of the lightsaber was also dumb. I am ok with Luke turning his back on the force. It just was not well developed.

Well, since it's the middle of a trilogy there wouldn't be much payoff. I don't need things set up for me to the point that when I see the 9th movie I can go, "Oh, I already know how this is going to go."

Abrams didn’t write the movie, did he? Are directors getting too much blame or credit?

Abrams Directed and was Co-Writer of Episode 7. He is also credited in the screenplay of Episode 9. He has some hand in writing both of those movies. I am not sure what % it is. There are some regulations on who gets credit or not. Like, if a director takes over for another director, they have to prove they contributed to a certain percentage of the movie to be listed as the sole director instead of co-director.

There was one line in the movie that made me think of a line used in Lost, lol. Dunno if Abrams was writing for Lost back then though, I think he was out.

I think this trilogy suffered from not having a basic outline. Abrams set it up in 7 and was done. It is what it is. Can’t please all. The Skywalkers are all gone now.

      Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.

      Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.

      Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere.
